Has anyone else here had problems getting their proof of No Claims Discount from A. Manning (The TVR Car Club insurer)?

I cancelled my policy back in July and insured my new car through a new company, since then despite three phone calls A. Manning have failed to send through the document, I am starting to get rather fed up with them.

Does anyone know if there is a legal obligation for them to comply?

There will be an obligation for them I believe..

A.Manning however in my experience have never been too hot on paperwork administration ( I am insured with them for the Chim and the Landrover).

I once received a covernote from them for a £24,000 Cerbera I didn't own. On asking them to change the policy from the TVR S to the Chimaera, they cancelled the Landrover policy instead according to the insurance documents.. that aside they are helpful and cheap.

Matthew in their office seems pretty switched on, have you spoken to him yet ?

Cheers
Matt.

Having spoken to A Manning today I can confirm all of the above. Not exactly on fire with their paperwork but both Matthew and Anthony (TVR Dept) both seem v switched on. Im still waiting on cover note so i can deal with the evils of tax. Just have to keep avoiding Mr Plod till then!!!

I had terrible problems getting proof of no claims entitlement following the IIG fiasco (cue sloping shoulders all round). Can't remember how I resolved it, I think the new insurers were very helpful and came up with a solution - unlike Mannings.

I'm also still waiting for a proof of NCD from them, having changed to Sunninghill.

Yeah I had problems with the paper work too. However, it was nothing more than them putting good old'e worldie stamps on them (none of this latest technology franking machines for them). With all of the bumpf they included it broke the weight for a standard letter and therefore got held back at the post office....

So not really a major problem but confusing to track where they were when it was a simple postage stamp problem! Other than that they have been fine... and really competitive.

Cheers,

Paul

Bypass Manning and contact the insurance company direct.

I sent them proof of no claims when I took out my policy with them three times - only on the third time did they receive it. I had to pay for the third copy from my old insurance company.

...but I am now paying £800 less through A Manning so I don't really mind.

I too had problems in getting NCB proof from A Manning when switching to Sunninghill. After numerous phone calls I resorted to writing to them and enclosing a SAE to make life easy for them. After another 3 weeks and yet another phone call they eventually got it to me. I am not very impressed with the service, partly the reason for leaving them after 1 year. And.....they were more expensive than Sunninghill - so that really decided it. Be perisitent, and with a bit of luck you may see it.

Interesting stuff. So its not only me then.

I'd already considered the written request with SAE, I suppose I'll try that.

I wonder if the Car Club know about this behaviour?

On the IIG cash back point: you should have responded to the shed loads of documents from the agents acting for IIG's receivers and have subsequently rec'd 90% of the unused portion of your premium. This from the Financial Services Compensation Scheme. Alternatively, if you paid by credit card your card issuer is jointly liable under the Consumer Credit Act and you could have got a full refund of the unused portion from them.

Interesting - I didn't get any paperwork and haven't seen any money back from IIG. I was with them but through Classic Line not Mannings.

I'm with Mannings now and agree threy are a nightmare for getting the paperwork out to you - despite admin fees for changing a reg number.

Now, where to begin. I have moved house during my time with them (2 years) and despite telling them about the house move and calling them asking them "So what's my address then?" to which they give the right address, they still managed to send every piece of correspondence to the old address.

I transferred my private plate from one to car to another and informed them of it but I never had a correct insurance certificate from them (origionally received a certificate with the wrong plate number, sent to the wrong address!!!) then I just recieved endless cover notes (to the wrong address) until the end of my cover with them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I use someone else now.

Now you remind me neither have I. Anyone have a contact number for getting this sorted. I wouldn't mind my £600 back (that's the 90%) bit. Can you get 100% from credit card? Is there a time limit to claiming.

I wish I had claimed straight away now but I had alot of other things on my mind at the time.

Me neither on both counts. I was originally told it would take about a year. That is now definitely up. If anyone has any info i.e. telephone numbers, contacts, I'd (we'd) really appreciate it.

Good morning you all. Just need some help locating another simular chat site to this one. Exactly the same format chatting about TVR's but also has adds for TVR's for sell. I know this is a bit of a shot in the dark as there are so many, I should know I have been looking for ages! It's almost as if this is the site but not quite if that makes sense? Hmm probably not.
