I agree totally with pliptons comments, unless u are on about re-furbing your own.
You just dont know the history of any wheel unless new.
Lets face it unless people are upgrading there wheels and are selling there old ones, then the majority of spare wheels floating about are from autowrecks.

Sadly we all (well, the ones who can't afford new cars) use 2nd hand wheels and tyres with little idea of their history, hoping that the state of the car when purchased is a reasonable representation of the way it's lived in the past.

Main dealer is the best option. They will know the car that the old wheels came off. Dream Machines "gave" me a set of 17's for Cerb when someone changed to spiders.
For refurbing them I would go to Spit and Polish in Tonbridge.

If you're after refurbishment I'd recommend B.J.V. Engineering. I got them to powder coat the wheels on my S and I've been really pleased with the result...

These look fine - my concern is when you buy them "already refurbished". You have no idea what they used to look like.

In the case when they are obviously just tarnished and haven't suffered nasty knocks that might cause cracking, that's a different story.
