Saw the pictures. PW looks as smug as I have ever seen him look!

I liked the bit about the 100obhp dyno breaking.

Ah, but the dyno broke becaue of the torque (660 ib/ft), not becaue of the power....

Still, 940bhp @ 7200rpm (estimnated) isn't bad !

I won't say anything else, or I'll ruin it for people who haven't read it yet....

This is interesting. A 900 and then some bhp Cerbera. How may i ask has this been achieved? Is it Nitros Oxide? A bigger engine? I may have to get my hands on a copy. Sounds hilarious

Did you see the article on F1 engines in this issue? 1500 bhp from 1500cc. Holy cow! One engine was made from a 100,000 mile old BMW block. Makes 240-440 bhp from a 4 litre look, well, a bit puny really.

Hat off to PW for managing to drive the Cerb S12 home!

Edited to point out - yes, it really does say 1500 bhp from 1500cc! 1 bhp per cm3!!!

Im sure i read somewhere that, that was somthing to do with the old blocks being de stressed, and that they used to leave the bare blocks outside the workshop for a few years and encourage people to pee on them...

so when they used them for the f1 engines ther were very few stresses in the block..

Thats right, my 240Z Samuri engine (2.8litre) was built from a block that had sat outside weathering for about 3 years, 265bhp from 2.8 on twin 2" SUs.

Don't forget that bhp and torque are directly related and I believe most dynos and rolling roads actually measure torque and convert to give the bhp reading. So for it to go bang at around 5-6000 rpm is not actually surprising as this will probably coincide with the peak torque range of the engine.

Well i bought the EVO magazine and didnt realise it was the Speed 12 Cerbera. I laughed and felt a bit of a dumb ass I had visions of a kited up Cerbera similar to the Gold Carisma kitted car. I prefere the original Cerbera to that Carisma creation but it is amuzing though. I like that purple one that was in sprint with the 747 wing on the back. Great Article and PW's opinion on it made me chuckle I sometimes see a Speed 12 cruising around Sheffield but it doesn't come out often. Chimaera S3TAY
