Was I the only saddo to watch the start of this new series last night?

After watching the new Fifth Gear series starting the night before, thought I would see what this show was like.

It's obviously not trying to be a serious car show, and going for a different audience to TG, so fair enough I say.

Nearly all the pieces are "silly" - eg cat & mouse - a stripped out old Jag chasing guest driver in an old hatch made to look like a mouse!

Best thing was a bit of a feature on the Marcos TSO and an overtaking test against a Viper - which the TSO won!

Won't be watching this series too often, but there may be some features worth keeping an eye out for.

It was better than white noise, just. Reminded me of top gear crossed with brainiac. Nothing useful journalistically, just a few blokes titting around.

Agreed, not really worth watching, got a bit excited when they showed Santa Pod (after Saturday) and the bit with the TSO was marginally watchable and TVR only got a brief mention. It's obvious from the "Dagenham Dave" bits that they are not targetting serious enthusiasts.
BTW Was it only me or did the the TSO cockpit look mighty cramped.

It sure did! And I have to say it's not a telegenic car - the side profile looked very awkward, if not downright ugly.

i enjoyed it, it was light hearted and fun.

5th Gear is the best car prog on the TV though, at least they employ drivers.

and i like to hear VBH squeal

Vroom Vroom! was marginally worse than 5th Gear (which is rubbish when they're talking and sometimes ok when they're driving if you turn the sound off to get rid of their annoying words).

Watched it last night. What a pile gimmicky poop. Presenters were useless, treatment of subject matter was more cartoon than ammusing. Won' make a second series - ususally the first episode has the best stuff to get you hooked but I'll find something else to do in future.

Did anyone else notice that, when that Lady Whotshername rolled the mouse car she cane very close to losing her hand when trying to grab the a-pillar. Car needs window netting!!!

Marcos have been fettling with the GT2 since it's first appearance on TG and although it's not exactly roomy inside I can slot my 6'4" frame in now.

Filming for series two is already under way.

Brainiac and Vroom Vroom are produced by exactly the same team.
