New venue for Surrey TVRCC monthly meet !

As of Thursday April 27th the new venue for the Surrey TVRCC monthly meet will be The Hautboy which is located in Ockham. This is easily found just off the southbound A3. The full address is Ockham Lane, Ockham, Woking,Surrey, GU23 6NP. The pub has a huge car park, large beer garden, the food is wonderful and the interior has to be seen to be believed. We'll be there from 7.30pm until the staff want to go home.

I tried to find that pub a fortnight ago from memory. Unfortunately I could not find it - but then again it was 1984 I last visited it. Hope it turns out well for you guys.

To any lurkers watching this thread that wouldn't normally post and just turn up on the night. Can you please say if you're coming along to this one. I need to let the pub know, so they can organise enough staff. They're expecting 30 or so of us, but if that becomes 50 or so, they may need more staff to cope.

(Charlie - hit Guildford, past Ladymead, hop on to the A25, left at Bell & Colville, follow road to the end and turn left again, down the road a couple of miles and right to the Hautboy. Alternatively A3 and follow the signs! )

The Hautboy Hotel Ockham Lane Ockham Surrey GU23 6NP

The Hautboy is located in Ockham between Ripley and Horsley. Travelling from Guildford, head up the A5 towards London. Take the SEND / RIPLEY turn off ( B2216 ) and go through Ripley village. At the roundabout under the A3 take the right hand exit to OCKHAM ROAD NORTH ( B2039 ) then take first left at the War Memorial ( about 1 mile from the roundabout ) and the Hautboy is 400 yards on the right hand side.

Travelling from London on the A3 towards Guildford and take the RIPLEY turn off, turn left at the roundabout into Ockham Road ( B2039 ) then take the first left at the War Memorial.

Just wondering as i'm in Croydon, if i was to go A232 into Ewell then A24 to Leatherhead then A246 to East Horsley then B2039 up to Ockham, could someone who knows these roads tell me what sort of traffic i'd expect to hit (i suppose especially around Ewell and Leatherhead) as i am not familiar with them.

your route sounds fine although it can be a little busy around the rush hour but another option could be to head south towards the M25 (if it's not too far out of your way) head West then get off at junction 10 heading south for Guilford on the A3. See dirctions as before.

Thanks for that Karen..........RUSH HOUR ??? I know we have only been to a few surrey meets but have you known us to be there before 8pm........so what time is the rush hour around Leatherhead
Another question.........is the upstairs area reserved for the meet or is it an open to all??
