Could be a problem this, brake pedal broken!!!

Coming back from Silverstone on Saturday when brake pedal felt as though it was twisting. As on the motorway it was difficult to see what was going on, so pulled off and found the pin connectig the pedal and acctuator almost completely out with the 'c' clip from 1 side missing. I've just got back from Castle who say they've not seen this before so don't have spares. I'm happy to accept this may not have happened before, but it has happened now! So please check to make sure you have a 'c' clip on BOTH sides of the pin. I can't imagine a new clip costing more than 20p but the consequences of the pin coming all the way out don't bear thinking about.
