Not impressed at the moment.

Just been out tonight in the Tuscan since I picked it up from it's 1000mile/12000mile service this morning.

Firstly, I've been charged on my service for an item that I was told (eventually) would be covered by the warranty. Apparently my car needed a new diff bush and 2 engine mounts at its 12k service. The diff bush would be covered by the warranty, but the 2 engine mounts wouldn't??? I argued it and eventually was told that they should be able to put it under the warranty, but it hasn't been.

Anyway, I was going to let this go but I've just noticed tonight when I pulled up in a petrol station a 12" long scratch behind the wheel arch which most certainly wasn't there before it went in. It's obviously been done when the car was "valeted" before being returned to me.

Needless to say I'm now fuming as I expect that it'll be difficult to prove that it wasn't there before, or I haven't done it myself since I picked it up. I'm not touching the car as far as cleaning etc goes and I'll be taking it in on Monday morning hopefully to be proved wrong.

Bloody hell! That's not exactly a minor blemish, is it!
Hope you manage to make them see sense and sort it out for you, even as a goodwill gesture from their standpoint.

hope that wasn't Mole valley, mine has had a "blimish " about 6-8 inhes long on the passenger door since it came back from a 6000 mile service there.
perhaps it's time to go to Racing Green mate.

Hope you get some luck with them, if it's the Moles go and see Charles he's always quite reasonable with me.

How's the new engine going by the way?????

Bad luck, I'm sure your dealer will admit liability if they ever want your business again.

My dealer has a form that they check the car in with and note down any marks on paint/wheels etc that you sign and agree to. You are given a copy so on collection you can check over the car again and any new marks are their responsibility. This has been very useful as the 3 times my Tuscan went back to the factory the factory scratched it, each time. Great.

BTW did you dealer actually check the valve clearances at the 1K service ?

See you at the next Surrey run !

Cheers

Well went down there this morning and they were very apologetic. They took the car in and had their bodyshop guys have a go at mopping it out and to be honest, they did a good job. It's pratically gone now apart from a very small mark right on the edge of the arch.

They also said that as I was thinking of getting the front blown over soon (due to all the stone chips) that they might be able to help me out when it comes to getting it done.

Also, they admitted to a mix up with the factory over the warranty claim for the mounts and refunded the parts and labour cost.

So another happy customer, once again.

Good result then - but that looked like a seriously big scratch. I wouldn't have been able to contain myself over a weekend knowing that damage was there. One of my TVRs, an earlier Chimaera with front grill, was damaged by TVR when at the factory for a service. Looked like they had prised the grill off and left a big deep mark - only weeks after the front end had been resprayed. I did not notice until I got the car home and got into my garage as it was dark outside when I collected the car.

I request at service times - NOT to wash my car. Parnoid perhaps, but no one looks after your car as well as you do yourself do they?
