I'm sure some of you read my post prior to being pulled.
One of the comments regarded the meeting the TVR works committee had with management on Thursday 13th April who were informed of POSSIBLE redudancies which were to be decided when we returned to work on Monday 24th April.
Today we have recieved letters dated 13th informing us we will be layed off from the 13th April (Lied too and decieved to again).
Redudancies would allows us to claim mortgage protection and benefits. Layed off means we will recieve no pay we cant claim benefits or mortgage protection because we still "officially" have a job. In the mean time bill's will mount up causing us to have to look for work and then TVR dont have to pay a penny in redudancy.
Losing your job you can handle, being shafted up the A*SE by a multi-millionaire who tries to get rid of people on the cheap you cant.
I should imagine this post will get pulled too because some people just dont like too know the truth no matter how hurtfull in can become.
And for all those who say "thats business" yes it is business but it not moral is it?.

Not right, but the simple truth.
But this is not the owners staement or opinion. Surely there is a disclaimer on the site for that sort of thing?

How is that sort of attitude going to help anyone?
I don't think anyone wants to see TVR go down the tubes, nor do they want to see people layed off.
Hitting out at the people who have bought the cars isn't going to do anything.
Business is tough at the moment... job losses where I work too, and my misses was out of work for a while too.... and Peugeot are closing Coventry...

I doubt there is anyone on this site who would take pleasure from seeing the TVR workforce(or anyone else for that matter) laid off.
You would think would'nt you. As with life in general 99.9% of the people on this forum are decent people, but then there is a few who would "let them eat cake" and treat most people like something they have stepped in.

Sorry its just the feeling i get from many replies i,ve read " oh well its business, its life" etc etc.
I take it this thread is being edited as we go, including mine which was not contentious

I'm sure there must be a good business reason for layoff's as opposed to redundancies, probably covered by some employment law somewhere, no comfort if you are on the receiving end of it though.
I sincerely hope this is not the end.
There is a good business reason to lay somebody off as opposed to redundancy. They cant survive finacially, they have to get another job therefore they DONT GET PAID REDUDANCY.
Like i keep saying some things like job losses you can accept as it happens to many people every single working day. To not be paid accordingly for in some case for 20 to 30 years loyal service you cant.
