Yes, I noticed that, and mentioned it on another thread, they laughed that off when it happed on the £40K+ beemer, but VBH stated it was unacceptable in this day and age, especially for a £40K+ sports car, when the same (allegedly!) happened when they test drove the T2 and Sag!
And lest we forget the blatent biased reporting on that one program of Driven, where 2 Boxsters blew their clutches when up against the 'shoddily built' Tam!

Totally agree - said the same in the office this morning. Its typical of these type of programmes - don't wan't to upset the big boys cos they won't be invited to the next big launch but knocking the little guys is fine cos they need as much exposure as they can get.
At least they left the clip in I suppose...
Oh how we all remember the Driven programme on Ch4 where the Boxters had to be pushed into place at the end of the programme, and they still won. One of the reasons given being reliability! The script had obviously been written and that was that.
It's not just Ch4 and Ch5, the BBC are just as bad. With JC harping on about reliability. This is the man whose Ferrari kept on losing battery charge and his Ford GT went wrong so much he took it back.
Dont expect unbiased reporting it's too hard for teeny weeny journalistic brains to manage. Far better to get out there and give a good British product a bashing and then bemoan it's fate after you've kicked it to death.

No, The people chose the Tamora, and even a Porsche owner was converted, you could see the look of abject horror on the presenters' faces, with Penny Mallory saying 'it looks like we've lost, oh no'!!!!

Difference is BMW probably apologised and fixed the car straight away at no cost. TVR would have been out of stock of parts and charged for the repair.

That is possible but In fairness BMW are a huge company who make cars with machines. TVR is probably smaller than BMW's canteen..

As P. Wheeler once said, BMW spent more on the 7-series dash than TVR had done in 40 years of its history.

I had a 7 series 6-7 years ago (comp car, no choice...) the dash squeaked, but my Tuscan dash doesen't... anyway a few months ago I got loaned the Tuscan 2 press car (PJ54 WNG, if I remember correctly) for a couple of days, it was the one that was on fifth gear and Top gear etc. I hadn’t realised it was the press car until I handed it back and mentioned just how f**ked it was, the car had only done 16k but it was very hard to get first and when the car got hot in a traffic jam second became hard to get, at one stage I thought I was going to run out of gears… the car generally felt very used and abused and apparently was about to get a new clutch to sort the gear problems, but all the knobs where firmly in place and I was able to get out of it in less than a minute… I think 0.3 seconds was my record… 
I also got loaned the Tamora press car, everything was fine, but jonos don’t know what water is…

Doesn't make any difference to a customer - you expect a car to work whoever builds it, and you expect them to fix it when things fall off. If a company can't afford to fix their mistakes, they either shouldn't be in business or they shouldn't be making mistakes.

I've got that episode on disk somewhere, it was very funny.
The majority of the people chose the Tamora, Penny whatshername couldn't believe more people went with the Tam, then she said "well does anyone actually own a Porsche" and up popped this bloke that said he was going to sell his porker and buy the Tiv. It was a classic.
Gonna have to see if I can upload it for the WORLD to see.

We were there.....and the people were not happy bunnies when the presenters voted for the Boxters, in fact the groans were audible and had to be cut out.
In fact, all the TVR peeps were pretty damn angry, given that (as stated above) they pushed the Porsches into place for the final scene.
Ray actually approached Plato (who is a actually a nice guy) at the end of filming, and said outright that, given the 'unreliability press' that TVR usually gets, he hoped it would be mentioned fair and square that the Tamoras trounced the Boxsters in the reliablity stakes.
Was it mentioned......NO....was it ever likely to be mentioned....of course not
