Mums and Dads as there seems to be quiet a few of us that use the TVR as a family car I’ve been thinking of trying to arrange a family TVR meet somewhere, parents could squeeze the kiddies in the TVR and meet others to talk about nappy changes, sleeping through the night and favourite toys

I suggest we look at a family friendly pub somewhere with something outside for the kids if the weathers good and/or a ballpark if it isn’t – I always seem to have as much fun in these as my little’n mind and of course a good bar for a few

My thoughts are a weekend in March when the weather should being to pick up a little - so mums and dads ask the kids if they want a spin in the TVR and play with other kids

Let me know your interest thought PH or mail me via my profile and I’ll try and sort something.

Cheers
Paul

Yes, count us in. Piglet and Mike want to come too! Somewhere with a toddler area for those not walking yet would be good. I think the Whitbread chain (Brewers Fayre/Beefeater etc) have such a thing.

Sounds good to me. We're near Woking, Surrey, so anywhere round the corner would be great .

Wife is expecting #2 in May, so could be quite laaaarge in March and this means i'll have to drive slowly and avoid all the potholes on the way ..

Oh, I don't know. Give her a few exciting moments - what could be cooler than being born in a Cerbie?

Annual pilgrimage to Courchevel on the 8th....

...so second half of March for us please.

Rolexblue,

Sounds great, though I'd have to bring the family motor along Unless my other half would drive sperately

There's a Brewers Fair in Larkfied (minutes from Walldonway) which has the Charley Chalk area for the (younder) kids, and some good roads in the area too...

RolexBlue, Great idea. Good excuse to squeeze into the Cerb rather than taking the easy option of jumping in the Freelander for once. Count us in.

OK peeps it looks like this could be fun only thing is (looking at peoples profile) we’re spread Oxford to Wokingham via SE London, Ashford and Essex Where are people happy to travel to – time/distance, I’ll also suggest 22/23 or 29/30th March.

Have a look here www.brewersfayre.co.uk/ for ideas of pubs.

For us as a family along with Piglet and Mike, we reckon we could get to either Surrey (clockwise) or Herts (anti-clockwise M25) before it got too far from Kent. Anyone in those places know of a good stop? Either of those weekends is fine for us.

Herts sounds the middle distance for most involved it would seem, and easily accesable by M25, M1, A1M and M11.

Was looking for a family sort of thing to do after lunch in case anyone would be interested, and spotted Hatfield House, a 400 year old Jacobean estate with nature trails and childrens play area.

There are 3 Brewers Fayre's within 4 miles on Hatfield, so lunch venue should not be an issue.

What sort of thing would everyone prefer?

Opens on the 30th March, one of the dates RolexBlue mentioned?

Count us in too - based near Oxford, but often go to Kent, and not aversed to taking a day trip somewhere around the M25.

Need to check the dates Paul suggested.

We can do the 30th no probs. How about the Cowpers Arms? Seems to have the full child facilities. Anyone in that area know the pub or perhaps could do a fly-by to see if it is suitable. Hatfield House sounds like a good bet too.

Excellent 5MUGhubby, shall we all say the 30th March then and the Cowpers Arms, Hatfield see www.brewersfayre.co.uk/results.jsp?establishmentID=925&qasSearchFileType=Brewers_Fayre I don’t mind going for a spin to give it the once over - any excuse to get the Cerbera out. If the weather holds we can even make Hatfield House too.

Count us in! After the grins we had in the Convoy going to Brighton, I can hardly wait. Perhaps we can all meet along the way, I know SMUG/SMUGHubby live our way and Nicks a Bromley Boy.
BTW Chief Navigator tells me that the 30th is Mothers Day. Hope I can leave mine @ home

Looks like dads and kids will be paying for lunch and doing all the driving so mum can take it easy

Paul,
I will discuss your requirements with the boss(her indoors). we are not a children friendly pub, however, when TVR,S are involved, "alien "driven TIVS are welcome, come back to you later. We are at Pirbright, between Guildford and Woking.

It's been a while since this was discussed, and the missus has been on at me to find out if this event is still going ahead, and if so, if it's planned to be in Hatfield still?

I'm not that far away, and am in Hatfield a couple of times a week - I'd gladly go and check out the 'child freindlyness' of the pub before hand.

Show of hands?

Tony
