just stumbled on this link from google. not sure if you've seen it before but what do you think?

www.maxpower.co.uk/car/history_template.asp?idArticle=2117

is it an insult to TVR owners or would you like to see these kind of boy racer style things rolling along next to you @ your next TVRCC meeting?

This has been done over and over, but some of the bits in the "have your say" forum thingy are priceless!!!

I quote:

"i for one can never seen myself owning a TVR and personally i don't think i would ever want to...

hand me a golf, a st of 19s and a mad bodykit anyday over a car that was designed and built for teh filthy rich..."

Arse....that about sums it up for me.

Do you think its possible for a car to cry itself to sleep?
No denying the guys mechanical ability, but maybe if I wore my baseball cap round the wrong way & my boxers hung out the top of my jeans I would like it. I dont & I dont, if you know what I mean.
Does that make me an old fart...do I care...

Oh! that site just gets better, looking a the forums on there the class and mentality of people there who would create such a monstrosity.

"I had a glass of wine and a pint of cider, i dont drink much so i was feeling light headed from that. do you think i was over the limit? maybe i shouldn't have drove, but if im under or on the limit, then i would've been ok if pulled they really cant do anything if your under the limit/on it, at the end of the day... They dont have a leg to stand on, unless you were driving without due care/attention etc etc....i belive limit is 2.5/3 units about a Pint and half, but i've had up to 4 pins and drove, but i wont be doing it over xmas, too risky!!"

because thats the whole point of it isn't it?

people like that should be locked in the bonnet of a speed 12 for a few laps of le'mans then run over and kicked to death with a large group of angry rabbits.

Oh and that stereo you got your cousin to nick from my m8ts car to stick in your nova! yeh thats cool!

AAAARRRGGGHHHHHHHHH !!!! winds me up so much!!

Vile. Goes against every reason I bought mine. I wanted something with power and style and not something that shouted tw*t - very loudly.

Well said Gaffer!!

Thats the thing nowadays I guess, i'm mid 20's and am aiming for an early Chimaera in few years time, but i've got an old 3000M, and am completely rebuilding it. I'd say i'm going to learn more and spend less doing that than these guys, and i'll get a 70's sports car into the bargain.

I know some of the maxxed crew do know about the technical side of things, but a golf, a set of 19s and a mad bodykit?? WTF??!! Skill involved?? The point is....??!!

Disgusting and offensive are two words that immediately spring to mind! I do worry these days about the seemingly ever decreasing level of IQ in people and what is deemed as art!!!
I chose my Chim not only because it goes well, but also the looks had a lot to do with the decision. I am a designer, I love curves and lines that are in proportion and look correct to the naked eye.
These cars on that site are just a hotch potch of very immature 'ideas', which, are no doubt ripped off from someone else's 'ideas', and consequently, they just look a mess, only worth something to the same type of low IQ clan!
It does bloody annoy me seeing stuff like that,,

Chris, ( who maybe showing his age at the ripe old age of 36!!! )

The funny part is they REALLY DO believe that a) it looks cool and b) that the sticky out bits make it go faster

I had a a gold astra with a swirly paint job and VERY loud exhasut follow me a few months back about an inch off my bumper. Once we hit a bit of road i left the more sap for dead. However the comical bit was a few miles later when i was in a 30 limit he came flying up behind me, dropped down to what sounded like 2nd gear and booted it past..................what is all that about ?!

1000bhp in a nova? Cool.. And they are such pretty little cars too..

ROFLMAO

Edited to add a quote from the site - 'Novaking, the indian version of your name is: Talking Bollocks

What a load of shite, 4x4 novas have existed for a long time. Nothing new. Show me a picture of the rear of the car taken from the underside showing the rear suspension and drive setup. Go on.... '

One of us that infiltrated?

The annoying little irks that drive 2 inches off your bumper in a nova with more filler and primer than metal and paint should be shot IMHO of course. However those that put a lot of time, effort and money into their cars and then drive them within reason are fine in my book.

Having been a total petrolhead from an early age, I was allowed by my father who owned his own garage to strip and rebuilt the engine out of a 1.3 Orion just after I turned 13. Having the mechanical know-how meant that, when I could legally drive on the road and had got my first car (a very sad little 950cc chocolate brown Nova with beige checked interior ) I took great delight in spending every available minute working on the car, wheels, brakes, paint job etc. This also applied to most of the 25+ other cars that have been through my sticky little fingers

Yes some of the car do look vile but, given the effort that the owner has put into the thing I say fair play, enjoy yourself. Though don’t want to see a long line of TVR’s being mullered by a bunch of spotty faced nerks but these guys do have a passion for cars, so let them live their passion. If they fall into the catergory of annoyoing little irk then they should be

Fair point. I have no issue with young guys in hot hatches if they don't act like complate a-holes. Case in point was when i was parked up at a retail park (sad i know) at the back end of last summer, 2 guys screamed up in what turned out to be a nissan sunny GTI under a stack of grp grinning like idiots at the car and asking if it was ok to take some video of the car as they hadn't seen one before. They'd just come back from doing 1/4 miles at Santa Pod and had apparenly done a 13 second in their 250bhp sunny Fair play i say................
