Got caught speeding the company car. 3 points, yeah standard, ok I can accept that.

But how much will it cost, £60. Not! £60 to the police, fairy snuff shouldn't have been speeding. The insurance company just added over £200 to my premium! According to the broker the insurance company now thinks that I am more likely to crash my TVR, even though I have never been caught speeding in it.????

That speeding ticket will ultamately cost me a min of £660 pounds over the next three years.

BASTARDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ring round, get a few quotes, 3 points should not affect you like that, I think they are trying it on, Hopefully get a cheaper quote, ring them up and tell them where to stick it!!!!!

Agreed. My 3 points for SP30 made no difference at all to the premiums.

Hmmmmmm as long as it's an SP offence and it's only 3 points and you don't any other convictions then it's bit harsh. Most insurance companies will let you have 3-6 points for speeding without loading your policy.

Speeding points don't tend to put up insurance. I've got 4 and it makes no difference.

I'm afraid that's incorrect.... insurance companies look at the risk generically, then load up proportional to individual circumstances...

Sorry to hear it. I also got one recently, my first SP30. Told the insurance company (Mannings) when it came to renewing last week but it didn't change my premimium at all. As already suggested, try another insurer.

Update,

Got two quotes one from mannngs one from sunninghills, both under £500. Thats almost half the renewal price.

Just goes to show it does pay to read the gassing station and find out where to get the good deals.

Thanks Guys

Ps. Anyone getting a good deal on bike insurance? How about beer? DVD players?
