Hi there! Reading the Ferrari discussion I notice they use Armourfend to protect against stone chips and avoid endless resprays. Has anyone used this with their TVR and to what effect????

I have Armourfend on my Griff and it has done a fantastic job of keeping stone chips at bay.
It also probably saved the front end from cracking/shattering when a Golf reversed into it, 2 weeks after I bought it. So it has its uses.

The only question is whether you can live with the up-close finish of the protective film.
8 feet away it is barely noticeable, so when on the road other drivers will not know its there. On closer inspection it is.

If the front end is immaculate or just had a re-spray, its certainly worth it IMO.

I have it on my Tuscan. It’s only noticeable if you’re less than about 4 feet from the car. Definitely seems to stop stone chips – but very annoying when you get a chip just a few inches above the amourfend!

The only thing you have to remember is after waxing the car, go round the edge of the amourfend with a soft cloth and your fingernail carefully removing the white wax that builds up round the edge. Otherwise it is very noticeable and looks like a big white scratch.

If you have it on a Tuscan, check they amourfend round the holes in the front grill neatly. On mine they hadn’t cut some of the holes to quite the right size so it started peeling off and dirt got underneath. Rectified under the amourfend warranty though.
