Ride Drive

Been on an advanced driving day today with John Cox from Ride Drive. I'd really recommend it to anyone who is interested in getting the maximum enjoyment from driving their P&J. The first part of the day was spent at Longcross (beside Surrey Rolling Road) it had been raining heavily which helped my tyres a bit. I was suprised at how hard the cerb had to be pushed before it lost control - there was also a porker there, apparently they take new customers there to give them an idea of what the car can do - I forgot the name of the driver that was supervising but he was the first person to win Le Mans in a porsche (not a bad instructor!!)

The second part of the day was spend driving on a viarety of roads and conditions (thankfully the rain stopped!) there was a lot to take in but it was really useful and not at all like a driving lesson.

I'm bloodly knackered know though - oh and during 250 miles the car neaver missed a beat!!

Great to hear Gareth - I did my course with John last November on the same track and no doubt route you took. Superb day with lots of learning - plus some excellent local roads in Sussex/Surrey which I have used a lot since. Throughly reecommended to anyone.

Excellent stuff to hear! I am doing the very same course with Jon in two weeks time, including the Longcross bit - did you drive round a a kind of giant roundabout area to get the feel of balancing the car on the throttle?

As gazm has intimated, get a good nights sleep beforehand, it is a very tiring (but enjoyable) day.

I would like to do one of these days, as have heard excellent reports. I have done similar courses on bikes in the past and found them very useful.
Could you possibly mail me with brief details of how the day was structured, and the sort of things that were covered?
I just want to get a better idea of how 'tailored' the course is, to meet individual drivers requirements.
