One for Ted this.

I've been a member for over two years now and like other posts on this board - I really enjoy PistonHeads. I came across the site after reading through the classifieds in TVRCC Sprint magazine. Thing is, how did it start, where is Ted Towers, why did you do it, is this your day job, I bet you have a beard ???????

Just occurred to me that I know none of the above - but here I am day after day! Let us know.

No I don't have a beard!

It grew out of hobby and yes, it's more than a full time job

One day I'll put a potted history up of how it got to this. But not until the job's done properly... long way to go yet

Some of us are old enough to remember the site before it was called PistonHeads.

Click www.petrolheads.com and see what you get.

I seem to remember a list of things that came off worst in crashes with TVRs ... lots of XR3s ... not politically correct at all ... very, very naughty ... glad to see we've all grown up since then, oh yes.

I came across Pistonheads when I owned a TVR; it is the best car fanzine on the net.

Came across the name on CDL's cars about 2 years ago, wondered what it was all about and had a look, see Ted sponsorship does work!

I was thinking - how about producing some PH promoting flyers that could be distributed to PHers to keep in their glovebox, so when they see a PH type car in a carpark/driveway/traffic jam etc. they could jump out and stick one under the wiper... Good idea or a bit sad...?

In the beginning there a very poor TVR email list...
Actually in the very beginning there was a TVR mailing list run by a bloke called John from Reading Uni..Hands up who was on that then?

I can remember me and Peter H and a blue S2!

I have a bunch of water resistant little cards for that very purpose. Drop me a line and I'll send you a few. Your help is much appreciated!
