Driving to Greece

Hi

I'm thinking of driving the chim to Greece in summer with my mate in his S2.

Can anyone who has done a long trip (1600 miles) across Europe please give me as many tips as possible about what i should take, and what arrangements i need to make to ensure i don't have any problems?

Insurance - Green Card Cover

Breakdown - some sort of decent international breakdown cover. If you broke down in Greece for example, god knows where the car would have to be recovered to - UK most likely - and without some comprehensive cover it would cost you an absolute fortune, so don't skimp on this!

Different countries require you to carry different things - I think minimum is warning triangle and first aid kit, spare bulbs. In Italy you're supposed to have reflective jackets. Not sure about fire extinguishers - check out AA website, they should list all this.

Be interested to hear how you get on with the Trev in Greece - only ever seen one Griffith there, so you should get loads of interest. Some of the roads are pretty poor though, and there's no way I'd want to drive a Tiv into Athens.

Could take some of te strain and give you (and The car) a chance to relax midway.
