Owning a TVR, apart from the greatness of it, has it's obvious downsides....

Repair and maintainence being a inevitable cost, how do most people deal with this????

Money into a jar....?
Hide it on a Credit Card when it hits you....?

Is it / was it factored into your plans when buying a Tiv...?

Or is it the case that money isn't really a worry

You have to factor in a certain amount of money when buying,but perversely the older cars seem to cost cost less to run

I read on here that most people factor in about £3000 per year for repairs and such on top of running costs...if the job you're doing is lucrative enough where you can afford it, I say its a very small price to pay for something so beautiful!

My Chim's cost me virtually nothing over and above the usual expenses you have to incur with any car.

We've had the cerb since Sept last year, and it hasn't cost us that much, a new tyre, a low loader and a service which we haven't got the bill for yet. It had no nasty surprises in the service so I'm guessing its not going to cost us 3k this year.

Is that all you've got? Think I may need more than that. Hope MOH doesn't read this, if anything goes wrong now it will be my fault.

Whoops forgot to mention waiting for a new windscreen, but thats on the insurance, but very inconvenient as its a heated screen its taking longer to source one.

I use mine every day and have coverd 6,000 in six months with just the normal service costs. Surely you budget for this when you buy any car, I wonder how much does a 12k service cost on a Ferrari 360.
