Im just about to venture in to the world of tvr ownership, but the problem i have is what car do i choose. The looks of the chimaera and cerbera really do it for me.The tuscan ive got to rule out due to problems with reliability. And i cant even entertain the griff, because to me i only see them as an old mans car.I know they sound good, but all i ever see is old men driving them, who look like they should be collecting there pension. On a recent meet i went to one griff had a tartan rug and a box of tissues on the parcel shelf, and another had a pipe and pair of slippers in it.So im afraid its going to have to be out of a chimaera or cerbera,a real young mans car full of testosterone. Please advise.

Ummm, I think you may get a few choice comments from the Griff owners on here. Made me laugh though.

Edited to say: Just noticed your name, nice one!

I'm an old fart and I drive a Chimaera so you better rule that out too.
Try a maxed-up Nova.

i too am looking into purchasing a tvr and the chimera and cerbera do seem to be the ideal can for the younger driver compared to the griff i believe i see the two griffs with the pipe and slippers and tartan blanket and it just threw me off signing the contract for that car im sorry to say

Steady on old chap..........as a grandfather owning Griff I have my top off as much as the next bloke......anyway look how late I'm up writing this.
Now where is the Horlicks ?

I reckon it takes a real mature bloke to handle a Griff ( how's that for controversy from an "older person "

Guys come on,on a serious note.I work within the leisure and entertainment industry,i.e nightclubs, and i need a tvr thats going to impress people in my line of work, thats why i have narrowed it down to a chimaera or cerbera both with there sleek looks and raw power.I dont mean to be blunt but to me the griffith looks like a bit of a bath tub on wheels. On another note is the windscreen slightly lower on the griff because i normally find bald headed old men driving them.So come on whats it going to be chimaera or cerbera? we will leave the griff where it belongs outside the local royal legion

At least its funny and no one has been dissed too seriously........... yet .

I blame the insurance companies myself for keeping the young guns out of the Griffs, does it therefore mean that the younger ones can afford to insure the chim/cerb, thus making it more of a boys car, the plot thickens

Harry

PS all IMHO and in the spirit of the thread

You may or may not be too young for a Griff, but you're deffo to much of an ar5e for a Cerb or a Chim.

Please go and buy another marque. A stretch-limo-Countach?

What car are you comming from? You should bear in mind that the 4.0 and 5.0 Chims are very different as are the Griff and Chim.

It depends what you want from you TVR.

if you want to impress peolpe, go for a Tuscan.

if you rule that out due to reliability problems, than the second head turning car is the Griffith!
mind you, it takes a real man to drive this beast.

if you want something a bit more forgiving, go for a Chimaera.
