Jan. '02 Tamora (blueprinted and converted to 4.0l Dec. '05)

TVR Power's dyno 09/06/06,

1st run - Max Power 308.70; Max Torque 347.90; Max Speed 168.72
2nd run - Max Power 311.60; Max Torque 239.67; Max Speed 139.61

Figures are at the rear wheels so flywheel figure is roughly 375 bhp.

Can anyone explain to me why the torque figures are so different?

from the max speed figure it looks like they ran it in a lower gear .. but why that knocked 100lb.ft off it i have no idea

To confuse things even more, my max speed was 141mph = 4th gear I assume. This seems to be the run when yours made less torque.

Cos its a different type of dyno to ours Joo.. however, lower gear should = higher torque at the wheels in theory on those .... So..

I'm going to get a cup of tea and stay well out of this

I thought it might be interesting to see what sort of figures peoples cars are putting out and what mods, if any, they have had carried out to achieve those numbers. So here goes with mine, with the format being: Model/engine size, year, Power (Bhp), Torque (lb/ft), Measured at, Dyno'd Where, Mods

Chim 500
1998
296 Bhp
340 lb/ft
At flywheel
Austec Racing
ACT induction kit & Mark Adams Tornado chip

For what it's worth:

Griff 500
1996
312 bhp (running lean, pre-remap)
375 lb/ft
At flywheel
V8 Developments engine dyno
Cross-bolted block, MC1 cam, hi-rev hydraulic lifters, duplex cam chain with vernier timing and cam retention plate, correctly rated valve springs, ported and polished inlet manifold, wide & short trumpets, Tornado chip, de-precat with flow cones.

All entirely irrelevent if you're comparing figures with a different dyno.
