OK this may be a General gassing topic, but I'm only interested in what budding David Bailey's who are TVR nuts think. I'm thinking of buying a digital camera - mostly for pics of my car (and maybe holiday snaps etc). Must be cheap! - or good value. What do you lot out there use? Any recommendations? A local p.c./gadget shop near me had a "special" limited upply of Kodak DX3900 3.1 megapixies, 2x optical, 3x digi zoom with 8 meg flashcard - for £129 !!! I was too late, they sold out. Internetcamerasdirect have DX4330 (newer version) 3.3 mpix, 3x and 3.3x etc for £220 but I don't know if this is good value. What do you think? Anybody got one they want to sell?
Bought my Sony P7 recently from InternetCamerasDirect and recommend their service which was next day as promised.
Had to ring up and order though as the on-line shop wasn't working - so not so 'Direct' in fact, but they were OK.
Spend as much as you can afford - you'll see the results in the pics you get.

A general point re digital cameras, zoom issues, optical zoom is good, digital zoom degrades the quality of the photo as it is effectively cloning pixels. Therefore for good distance photos go for a digital camera with the best optical zoom options, or a good 35mm SLR and a good scanner.

Hutch
Yeah me too. The only issues I have with it are:
1) takes about a second between pressing the shutter release to it actually taking the photo.
2) there isn't a decent battery level indicator, just a warning when the battery is low.
3) only takes CF type I cards not the type II (microdrives).
Apart from that, it's small enough that I'll actually take it places....
