advice on tvr s
Discussion
start with www.tvrsseries.com and pistonheads classifieds.
prices vary hugely based on s1/2/3/4v8, condition, and desperation (of buyer or seller)
running costs vary - I maintain mine myself so costs are minimal - I spend more time and money on "improvements" than on servicing. TVR independents are around £300 for a service I think.
They are not as fast as the V8 and Speed 6 cars, but (IMHO)) just as much fun if vmax is not your objective.

The S is a brilliant car. Full stop. Check out my profile for costs, although I spend more than I need
You need to go and look at a few and drive them. Every S is different
Edited to add: If you have a Tuscan S (as per your profile) then you'll find the S a bit more agricultural, although no less fun and a lot, lot cheaper!

What he said!
My TVR route has been S2 to a Chimaera as everyday cars, then following house move the Chimaera gave way to a commuting car and another S2 as a second car.
Smiles per mile per pound S's are unbeatable. Not as refined as the newer models but just as much (in not more) fun at a fraction of the cost
Check out the S pages on PH for plenty of advice / info etc.
