Stansted airport parking

Hi all,

I am half considering parking my Tuscan up at Stansted Monday/Tues whilst I travel. Has anyone any experience of such a thing - is there any "VIP" parking available perhaps that I might feel safer using? I have checked the standard websites for parking etc but nothing jumps out as being particularly safe/suitable. Half of me says "it will be fine", the other half says "no way".....

I leave my Cerb at Stanstead every 6 weeks or so for a week, I useually use the mid-term parking area (GBP 13.50 a day). Long term parking is cheaper but a way from the terminal.

I've never had any trouble.

Often leave mine in either shorts(hee hee) stay right next to terminal; seems to be plenty of security but twenty something pounds a day, or mid stay; half the price, some distance away though fine long as you allow extra time for bus to terminal. LongStay is a loooooong way away. Only time I used it took 45 mins from parking the car to reaching the terminal bus stop.
I'm sure you are aware of the recent horror stories involving supposed VIP parking at various
airports. No direct experience of these at any airport but if I drive to any airport my car keys come with me wherever I'm going.

I got into a toyota for a woman at stanstead car park,she shut the boot with her keys on the rear light and locked her self out with the remote,with a kiddy in the back,
as soon as I got the tools out and got to the car the airport police and security were on me like harbour sharks!..
AND I had already told them that I was breaking in to the car in the car park five minutes earlier,so I suspect it`s quite safe from thieves,but vandals?.
I would feel safe parking there,though not in anything that I cherish.

Thanks for the input guys. I think I might just chance the short stay then.

Caduceus - I need to be in the terminal at midday Monday and return Tuesday at about 5.30pm.

What on earth? If I had a McLaren F1 I'd think twice about parking there, but a Tiv? I've parked mine at Stansted around 20 times in either mid or long stay, and it's always been 100% fine. It's safer at an airport carpark than a supermarket.

Guys,

Although a very, very kind offer was made by Caduceus, I didn't have enough time to take advantage and parked up in the short-stay, on the end of a row. I understand people's thoughts that there shouldn't be an issue and "it's only a TIV" but, to me, it is my P&J and I would be gutted to come back tomorrow and find a ding on the door etc (which we all know can happen very easily..) but, hey ho, sometimes I guess you just have to put your paranoia in a bag and tape it up!

Anyway, thanks again for all the input, I'll let you know how I get on tomorrow....
