Sorry all this is the confessions of an idiot.

I placed an add in the classifieds a few weeks ago saying I wanted a set of 16" spiders ideally with tyres and most likely an upgrade feom one of you Tamora owners that have gone upto 18's and have an old set lying in the garage. Anyway I got 2 responses one from a guy in south wales and one from someone involved with MADS, I answered them saying thanks the project is just begining I should be in touch in a few weeks time when we get a bit nearer, well I'm alot nearer and would like to buy some wheels now but have lost the bloody emails !!!!!!! please get back in touch or anyone else come to think of it.

We have a quantity of 16" spiders available which will fit any Cerbera, Tuscan or Tamora with the smaller brakes. Also thinking of doing a hub/brake conversion which would allow you to fit them to Griff/Chimaera. Any interest?? Regards, Tony.

Answer to both of you

Mel,

I have some wheels you may be interested in, I'll send a photo tomorrow

HexHC,

Is it just a case of changing the Siera etc hubs for Granada ones ?

If not, what's involved

Thanks

Ben

What would the costs be for this?

Mel, I have wheels and tyres languishing in my garage. E-mail me and they're yours for a suitable wedge of beer tokens!

I believe from my discussions with Neill Anderson at the factory that the hub is not simply a Ford item and the peculiarity of the pcd also leads me to the same conclusion. So we are working on costs at the moment but it might be useful to have some feedback on the numbers of people potentially interested as the more we can do then the cheaper it would become. It would also be possible to include a brake upgrade as an option for Griff/Chimaera...of course this would add to the costs but may be of interest to you trackday fans. Be back in touch soon, regards, Tony Abrams.

Sorry, simply replying to questions posed by members and trying to gauge a level of interest from members regarding a possible upgrade for their cars, again in response to requests I,ve had. People are more than welcome to contact me via e-mail or telephone if this is getting on your nerves! (Wheels/tyres/brake upgrades equal interesting car stuff! Jewellery...Hm, not so sure!)

No need to apologise at all.. the jewellery thing was just a little joke anyway, I did a range of Logo'd keyrings at Christmas.. I was just getting amazed at all the topics on 16" spider wheels..

Matt.

So I take it the answer to my question is

"I don't know yet"

I'm not sure how interested I am, would depend on brake/wheel/tyre options, and the advantages over the current set up

Would be interested to know ball park figures for converting the Griff, particularly if combined with brake/suspension upgrades...

Interesting, I discussed all this with Neill a few years ago before fitting my 4 stud Racelines. He said that is a right bastard of a job and he would never do it again. Apparently to do it on his Griffith itinvolved (amongst other things) turning the steering rack upside down in order to allow the track rod ends to hook up with the attachment points on the king pins. I would be interested to know what solution you come up with. Rich...
