Was thinking about this in the bath earlier (well make's a change from my usual "pass time" in the bath).

Not including Speed 12 and Tuscan R (i.e too rare/tooo expensive for me) i thought about what FANTASY Tivver id like to have(say you could choose from any body/chassis/engine permutation from the last 35 years).
My conclusions suprised me.

BODY : Griffith ,latter 500 shape, but ,pre the last100.
(THE body shape which encapsulates what a TVR is all about - the link between the Mk1 Grantura and the Tuscan R- IMHO of course).

ENGINE : Rover V8,500 Spec AND some more,With an exhaust system more usually found on a4.3 pre-cat. (my fantasy Tiv COULD have had an AJP or S6,or EssexV6 or 4.7 USFord V8).
Maybe its my lack of driving experience with S6 OR AJP
but ive heard enough naughty Wedges and Griffs to know what floats my boat.
(Edited to say ; If Rover V8 worship is a crime, then take me down, cos im Guilty as Charged ).

CHASSIS: Griff/Chim - Forgive me -i know no better.

COLOUR : White has actually grown on me - but im not that fussy about colour - obviously

WHEELS : As Far As Im Concerned , 16" OZ Cross spoked split rims all round are the Ultimate - no further comment required .

Anyway, the fact that i own and love a Chimaera 500 with Griff wheels should tell you fellow PH ers that

a) at least the above must have some validity and im not influenced by the model i own.
OR
b) hot baths and Tennents Super x 7 - dont mix.

Whats your Fantasy Tiv.
BTW whichever of you PH ers owns a 92/98 Griff on OZ wheels. You Lucky B*st*rds.
Thank you , and Goodnight.

A silver vixen, completely standard! One used to pass me everyday, have wanted one ever since.

A T440T - Tesco based with a 4.5litre V8RR engine- then re-badged as a Vixen (in the motorshow white/silver colour)

The Pink press Cerbie 4.2- leave it -ahem- standard

There are more, but cant think properly atm

are you saying then that your dream car is a pre 98 white griffith?

i agree with the griff shape, and the noise of the rover v8, but the AJP is incredible, the tamora the best handling ever, and the spider rims the distinctive tvr wheels..

A fully convertible T350, but with a shortened nose cone, with possibly crystal Topaz, or maybe desert moondust paintwork, and either uprated, 390RR, or 440T engine. Drainpipe exhaust with minimal cats and silencers, air con, full leather and lamonta interior, Racelogic traction control, and possibly ABS (for those winter emergency situations!). Mmmmm, suits you sir!!

Fully agree with the body: Griff speed six design with some aerodynamic improvements, 18" spiders. AJP8 5.0 or an advanced version of the 5.0V8 (multi valve etc), at least 450 (real) bhp. Tamora/T350 chassis. Sequential gearbox. Cerbera interior.

The m-show silver colour was Silver SpectraFlare.

Pink cerbie...? there was one in Candy Apple Red. There was also a rose coloured Cerbie, Peter is driving a green one at the mo (cant remeber the name of the colour...sorry). In the beginning was Rasberry pink and electric blue griffs then came Pearlescent White Griff (the pic I posted)....interesting story....a guy came to the factory to buy a griff in the same colour as Dads and they made a good few batches of Pearlesent white (using same measuremets etc) and NONE EVER came out the same colour, all were a lot brighter white...so there you go.

Mine would be:
Tvr cerbera, RR, LW, colour flip with turquise and blue. (4.7ltr version)

Oh and I would add a big spoiler, underlight neons. blue wsaher jets, one of those scrolling text things. A few 18inch subs, erm, what else, some disco lights,
8inch exhaust, knight rider style lights. Nos.
Is there anything else I could 'bolt on'?

I'm gonna be the odd one out and actually say that a Chimaera would be my dream TVR.
It would have the full headlamp upgrade (ala zertec) and afterburners.

Despite being a chimaera on the surface it would have the chassis of a T350.

I'm going to be contriversial with the engine and go for a Chevvy LS6 V8.
Increased comp ratio (for superU) and blueprinted.
custom (LOUD) exhaust. Maybe a few other choice internal components. Power? say 400bhp?

Not sure about wheels just yet. I'm not sure that spyders would look good on a Chimaera.

And as for colour it would be metallic black polished to perfection.
Much like this in fact

Nice. I wish I had 15k

Speed 8 for me. Absolutely georgous shape (still-born Griff proto). Large V8 (any) with TVR tuned pre-cat exhaust, something like a 500SE may do. Flip-flop paint job, Tuscan full hide interior - parchment maybe and 5-spoke w-i-d-e OZ split rims.

Ahhhhhhh!
