Can any one recommend a cleaning solution for the vinyl on and around the consul of my Chim? It isn’t that dirty but a good clean would tidy it up.

Thanks

Simon (Mid Wales)

Decosol - orange stuff in a small plastic bottle, mix with water. Cleans vinyl and leather very well (treat leather afterwards).

How good is this stuff at fetching out the really ingrained dirt in the vinyl?

I use the autoglym annually and the vinyl is pretty clean - and I should know...it's magnolia! The only problem I have is that one passenger wore a brown leather jacket and some of the colour has come off on the door and centre console. Autoglym doesn't shift this

Yeah magnolia here too - tried some pretty good stain remover, which did improve things, but theres still dirt in the patina of the vinyl. Might give one of these products a try.

I bought mine from the local motorists discount in Slough. Not sure if Halfords stock it though.

As had been noted above - beware wearing anything leather near leather seats, especially after they have been cleaned and then conditioned. Black leather trouser belts and cream/magnolia hides do not go together well. The pigment can migrate from one to t'other - and it will NOT come out. That Gliptone leather conditioner leaves a lovely leathery smell on the seat leather - but it also leachs colour out of anything else in contact with it.

Tried the Decasol last night, its OK but not briliant. I rubbed it in neat with a tooth brush and left it for a while then wiped it off with a clean rag. It came clean but took quite a bit of scrubbing in. I think it will be better to take the seats out to get a better angle on the vinyl around the gear stick/transmition tunnel.
