TVR loosing it?

This is just a question, and my view.
Does anyone else think that newer Tvr's are'nt as good looking as the older ones. I mean I think they peeked with the flat roofed Cerbera. They all have that blob sorta shape now, instead of the aggressive looks they did have.
I think they're starting to look like cheap Kit cars.
My favourite Car in the world is still the pre-facelift Cerbera 4.5. and has been since its launch.
I mean the TVR website is'nt even as classy as it was.
This is just bothering me thats all.

I fully agree, the current cars just dont quite have that same va va voom!
I think the golden days for TVR where the 90's, with Griff, Chimaera & Cerb. Looking at the current line up, if i wasnt already into TVR, i doubt there's enough to draw me in, not least because the speed 6 engine just does not sound mean enough, & still would appear to have reliability issues

I think they are moving on well (apart from the shite website). I have a Chimaera so clearly that is the best looking car they ever made. Although wife wants a Cerbie (mee too but the Chimaera stays!), daughter wants a Tuscan, and I'll take 2 of any of the newer stuff.
As Beano500 says beauty in the eye of the beholder and all that. But for me they are heading in the right direction.

I have considered the same question.
There are some small area's where TVR seem to be overdoing things.
Tha tamora has a way too fussy bonnet with double slits, althought this is rectified on the T350. And that passenger side bonnet venting is too much.
Another thing i have noticed is how the wheel arches are now thin-skinned as opposed to muscularly-bulging on the V8 cars. Looks a bit too lotus for my liking.
Generally the cars are still stunning and generations ahead of the competition....but i see where your coming from.

the 90's TVR's were immediately gorgeous. The current range doesnt have the same effect on me. The Tuscan and Tamora (and no doubt the T350) have grown on me considerably. When I first saw the Tuscan I thought it was very ugly. As time has gone on I have found it totally stunning and would love to be in a financial position to buy one 
having said that - the charm and good looks (along with the V8 soundtrack) of the Griff/Chim/V8S etc are something that still appeal to me very much. Timeless I guess.
It would take something major for me to consider changing the V6S for anything else for a while too. Classic style that just wont date.

Griff - Never got on with it originally now I am starting to think its a wicked shape.
Chim - One of the best rears of all time.
Cerb - Obviously the same merits of the Chim but the extra length in the doors seems to bring the roofline down and elongate it marvellously. Personally I prefer the facelift versions, both the light pods and the new faired in type.
Tuscan - REALLY disliked it at first, now love it, it makes a real statement in my eyes.
Tamora - Never really saw eye to eye with it but it does have some real merit I think especially in the right colour.
T350 - TVR's best styling move since the Cerb
T440 - Jury still out, preferred the original rear I think.

Fully seconded. The first 4.2s with the 16" rims are IMHO the very best-looking of the bunch certainly because they're not head turners the most recent cars intend to be.
Never been fully convinced by the Tuscan's styling - except the Tuscan R with the appropriate long roofline à la shooting break.
Above all I find quite disappointing these ugly 18" spiders giving the cars cheap Max Power style: the Tamora looks wonderful on 16" spiders but reminds of a kit car on 18".
Ah excellent, a good ol thread on TVR looks... just what I've been thinking about today.
T350 looks absolutely splendid in the flesh and it would be that that my money would go on. It looks compact in a business-like way. no messing about with big overhangs etc. Wheel at each corner for stonking handling.
Cant say I agree with everyone about the v8 versus sp6 sound. I have a louded-up chim, and imho a sp6 engine is the cooler sounding lump. That raw, rorty, revvy note sends shivers big time.
the only current Tivver I'm still not in love with is the tamora. I just cant quite get past the slightly 'haridresser' styling. Sorry Tamora owners, but only IMHO of course.

Up until a couple of weeks ago I would have agreed, but a recent visit to Hexham Horseless Carriages changed my mind. They have a Estoril Blue Tamora which looks the business.It is all colour coded and has lost the black grilles and diffuser.After having seen the car I had a test drive of their demo and all my negative vibes about the Tamora were lost forever!
Hey come on, the T350 is pant wettingly lovelly... All that subtle fat curves on the rear and the boomerang lightstyle (a.k.a Maserati (before they dumped the design).
Tuscan is soo different.
The Griff is a design classic but for me I think the Speed 6 (that Griff prototype before the Tuscan would make the best Griff ever)..
