My first service at Automedon....I'm in North Lincs so it's obviously quite a trek to most
of the "trustworthy" indies and dealers.
So after considering petrol costs, mileage on the Tiv and days off to take it and bring it back ( assuming I don't have to leave it and arrange trains or accomodation etc) it seemed a good idea to get Automedon to collect and then deliver it back. The collection went well, Dave and Colin dutifully arrived and loaded the Tiv on the lo-loader trailer
- and off they went.

We had arranged that it would go one Saturday and come back the following one. This turned out to be problematic as they ended up being really busy the following Sat. Still when I rang them, they said the service had been done some extra bits like fixing the drivers bolster (which was loose) and ,whilst the console was out, tightening up the handbrake mounts was done too. I reported a "clunk from the front suspension and this turned out to be a snapped Steve Heath drop link. Both fronts were replaced with TVR ones as Steve was on holiday. Automedion did a great job sourcing the TVR ones as I couldn't find anyone anywhere who
had any links. I also reported a small "miss" that I have always seemed to have
- nothing problematic just a pain in the ass - that was fixed too - a missing rubber
in the induction pipework - again I think back to all the other services I paid good
money for who didn't find this stuff.
They also replaced the rear discs and pads which were buggered.

After a few false starts we finally arranged a return date which then
slipped due to their Shogun's starter motor dying....
After fixing the Shogun they arrived later that afternoon and presented me with my old links,
some freebie mugs full of Automedion rock ( hoorah ), the bill (!) and a quick report of what had been done.

Now it is home I keep noticing things...

They have dismantled and cleaned the headlights so they now look like new - no charge,

Both my doors now fit against all the rubbers - and shut perfectly - for the first time ever ( even tho it's been to some illustrious indies in the past ) -"it's part of the proper service" I was told - no charge

One of the rear wheels which had a scuff mark on it, now doesn't - and appears to have been painted - no charge
( beginning to sound like a country music song...)

Seems like my Tiv has just had it's first "proper" service.

All in all I'm very impressed with Automedon - they do service and remedial work like I have never seen in the Tiv world ( I've had some very mixed results from services at indies and dealers in the past).
They actually seem to do what I have been expecting all along from the others I have dealt with and never ended up getting.

Well done Dave and Colin keep up the good work and this quality level and you CANNOT fail...

yes....Not even had service done by `em yet, only few bits and bobs (they are well placed for me, fortunately) but they are tops, aren`t they?
Yes, I know there are other good indies out there, these are nice guys that simply deserve the business and they are very professional. Me likes that!

Dave.

Its goes without saying Automedon certainly do have a pride ,quality and attention to detail about their work. I rang again last Saturday for some advice , the information was immediately given.Even though I would go elsewhere to have the work done - car under TVR warranty. this did not stop them helping me - I was really grateful - how refreshing to know not everyone thnks about £ notes first! I wish them every success they truly do deserve it

Heard lots of great things about these guys & I'll certainly be calling them in April when the Tuscan is due its annual fettle.

Snorky, how much did they charge for the collection & delivery? I'm in Sheffield & always travelling for sevices & work (for the right attention) and as you say taking time off & messing with public transport is always a pain.

well it's 35p per mile but you have to remember that, like a taxi, they charge both ways so it ended up being £210 altogether ( +vat ) but I live 150 miles from them ( so 600 miles effectively). I took into consideration petrol there and back + milage on the car plus my time ( VERY expensive ) and the fact I would have had to get a train home then back again or stay in a hotel....so not fanastically cheap but not that expensive either IMHO. It's nearly worth it for the great quality of service they provide....
