So buying British is important
Discussion
Guilty, Jeep cherokee. Would've had a freelander but more money and 4k cheaper on continent and i didnt feel like being shafted. With deals like that they didnt deserve to sell a car.
I find it interesting how many farmers have 'EAT BRITISH' stickers on their Isuzu troopers and John Deere tractors, just a little hypocritical!! We do at least have mainly British made tractors and machinary so not all bad.

Nope my 2nd car is a Volvo T5 estate.. Bought cause it was dirt cheap to cart the band gear around.. If i could of found a Rover 75 Estate for 1200 quid it would of been mine.
The volvo was a car of necessity.
My TVR was my car of choice where all my hard earned money went.. and in my top 10 reasons to by was that it was a British Sportscar.

Rover 75 here and yes I think it's important that people support British industry by buying British goods. How else do we all keep our jobs? If profits dont come back to us we are going to end up with no manufacturing and hence no services.
I tell you we are all in deep trouble if this carries on.

A massive part of TVR was its Britishness - a British sports car.
A very rare thing nowadays. I don't think its fair to compare state of the art, ABS'd mass production cars in the same way.
There are far better built German cars on the road than there are from other countries.
The point here is that nobody really bought TVR's because of their build quality, did they? They were bought because of exactly what they were.

Daily driver is a Sagaris, second car is a Chimaera. Third car is a Cerbera. And fourth car is a T440R.
Soon to get rid of the landcruiser for a range rover, but keeping the 1986 BMW 3.25I for sentimental reasons.
Is that British enough for you.
And thoroughly hacked off about the gross mismanagement that has led TVR so far down this path. How on earth can a company with such a great product, a sympathetic public, and huge ownership base go so badly wrong? If you were to pick out the most basic market principles, and add all of the aforementioned advantages, how the hell can that get screwed up???
The last few years have seen a massive erosion of the essential elements in the character of this nation, and albeit a small part that TVR is of the whole, it is a further contribution to the general slide.
I just hope to hell in TVR's case a Phoenix of some substance does rise from the ashes.

Yep. Rover 200 1.4 is Sarah's daily hack. Her old car before was a Metro that came from her mum. Her mum and dad have had and still own at least one Landy. My previous car to the Sagaris was a Griffith, pervious to that was an MG TF. My first car though Il admit was Jap - an mx5, which far as Im concerned is British soul on 4 wheels thru n thru. Oh and we have a Healey Sprite in the garage.
Next!
I've had 3 Jags, 2 TVRs, Range Rover etc.. Always try to buy British if I can. I currently drive a Volvo V70 T5 as a daily hack because I need a load lugger and there is no British made alternative to the vehicle.
Speaking purely personally the Britishness was a key factor in buying my TVRs.

Buying British is not, and never has been, reason enough for me to buy anything. If it's the right product, at the right price, and there's a choice between 2 otherwise identical items, then fair enough. But protection leads to a dependency on what is essentially charity.
Make the product right and you never need to rely on a call to patriotism, make it wrong and you can only depend on that goodwill for so long. TVR made sub-standard products for too long and consumers eventually voted with their feet.
