On a brighter note, a big thanks to Andy, Sean from tvrmonster.com and Col and Graham from Dulford automotive for organising & keeping us on the road for the great trip to the 'Ring and Spa last Saturday to Wednesday - what an experience!!! If you haven't been yet book for May now. type

The paying crew, me, Phil, Nick, Lisa, Grant, Mark and Corin are unlikely to forget any waking momement of the five days

High adventure, wonderful tracks and hilarious nights out.

Highlights;
1. First go round the 'Ring - exhilarating and terrifying in equal degree
2. A lap around the 'Ring in Phil J's 4.5 Cerb - no theme park can get close (check out the video on YouTube)
3. Staying in Sabine's gaff - Gasthaus Fuchshof (I kid you not & no she wasn't in)
4. Steak on hot tile (Ask Andy)
5. THAT drive from the 'Ring to Spa
6. Getting tuition from Mike Wyldes (ex-F1 and everything else, at Spa)
7. The weather - brilliant - Thank God (or Andy)
8. The company
9. That dessert (no comment)
10. Mark's donoughts at Dunquerke - all nicely back in line when the jobsworths appeared
(11. The Belgian Police - for being almost completely asleep) thumbup

Predictable moments - When I told Nick & Lisa at Ashford at 6:20 am on Saturday that 'this is when one of the cars goes wrong' - and my MIL came on! irked

Brown Trousers - That lap with Phil, going wide at Eau Rouge......and recovering, watching Angy's Griff shed its roof at 150mph, when you're behind.

I am still dreaming of a fast lap anywhere, but I had a blast - so thanks to all concerned and roll on the new season.
For those that haven't do it while you still can wavey

Indeed, 'Ring and Spa in one trip was quite something. Great company throughout too.

A few snaps....

"Monster Griff" a fu©king quick Griff! yes

Erm, "Monster Chim" - blown TVR Power 4 litre. Flew in the hands of racer Marc Hockin

Nick & Lisa's 4.5. Almost made me wish I'd chosen a different blue all those years ago

Doc Dave's "Rice Crispie" - Snaps, Crackles and Pops even more than the AJP8s! eek

Seeing this on the road (a) brought back memories of The Challenge cloud9 and (b) made me wish my old racer was street legal. Road presence? Oh yeah! yes

I was there at the same time, both the Ring and Spa. I was going to come and have a chat at Spa but never got round to it. I was in my E30 M3 with my brother in his orange EVO6

We were with Clive and his gang from RC Developments his car has 650BHP my brothers 600 BHP they are both very quick track cars as they should be the amount of time and money that has been spent on them!

And my youngest son in his Trophy

We towed the cars from Rotterdam on Sat and then drove back to Blackpool via Calais on Tuesday night The only car driven there and back and didn't miss a beat was the Trophy and my god is it a good track car right out of the tin! The weather was brill and Spa is awesome I can't wait to go there again.

Ah! The RC Developments EVO! The only car that passed me at Spa. Holy shit, that thing's quick. When it's turbo got a good lung full of air it catapulted past me out of Eau Rouge. VERY impressive!

Yeah it is silly quick! My brother's had a plenum problem all day which was a bummer. I watched you from the pits you were definitely on it especially up the hill after the bend! Had to laugh one of Clive's pals took the RC car out and he had never done a track day and was s**t scared of the car. He got overtaken by the white and blue Scooby that was porsche RS colours and his mates went mad on the pit wall. Clive went out passed the same car down the pit straight and left it by 30 seconds on one lap!

Great day.

Err... I will be keeping an eye out for this... price/dates depending of course, tempting to ask you to just put us down for a Cerb 4.5 + 1 other driver anyway. evil hehe

Yeehaa! Hammering MonsterGriff sounds good and looks good.

Very nice between shifts. Was that the Beemer RingTaxi?

That blown Chim is what a Chim should be. A bit more vicious.

Nice collection!

Is Spa like the Ring then ?? You can go there at certain times and race round ?? I thought most of it was a public road for most of the year ??

No, Spa is a circuit now. It's been a few years since the pit straight etc. were a public road between races. We were at Spa on a track day.

O/T Roads that used to be part of the old Spa circuit are public highway now. In the Spa museum there is a model of the old circuit - it's longer than the 'Ring. Must have been amazing in the 'olden days'!
