I hear from someone that should know (i.e. has one), weighed car and it was 1400kg!confused

And and that an RR is only 50 kg less. If that is right? Is so JESUS!

Had mine (Chim) weighed pre mods at 1080 with almost empty tank.

Power to weight.......................!

That's not what Cerb owners have reported....

Some quotes here: www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=235499&f=6&h=0&hw=weight

You're about 300KG up according to that.

Nope.

Think it would be more interesting to have a weigh off than these Rolling Road sessions.

Did seem a bit much - waiting for him to comment but the shear size of them must mean they are easily 1250 minimum - will check that other thread now.

Definitely lighter than that. Boss Cerbera, want to get him some real figures, or should I?

From that other thread seem one car is very low at 1120 and most seem to be 1200 (which is what I origainlly thought) to 1260. And more for the boat anchor SP6 version.

orgasmicliving!! What kind of handle is that!? Are you a member of Torchwood!

It's a pisstake of the russian boy-wonder. it's what he wanted for a marketing slogan/campaign when he first bought TVR. What an utter tool.

A few extra inches of fibreglass body and a few extra inches of centre section steel tubing can't be that much extra mass? Plus the AJP8 engine is lighter than the RV8.

Yes the russian is a Complete COCK.

SO that other thread seem to split the difference as well. Jess from first thread has an early 4.2 which do seem light and the rest do seem to be 1200 to 1250. So maybe 1400 was wrong.

ASH will tell us all the truth soon.

Id think 1400kg is waaayyyy off the mark!

Think about it, the (old) 7 series I drive weighs 1600kg!

If his Cerb weighs 1400kg he must be carrying something extra

Has he checked the boot for immigrants hehe

Yes but a 2 door Vette 2 seat is 1350 (has a heavy gearbox and a bit heavier engine than AJPV8), but is a spearate chassis glassfibre car. So thinking a late one sounds about 1230 - 1250 maybe get a tad under if a lightweight (but I bet all that is just Marketing bollox). And someone said the Lardy SP6 will add 30kg to that - can easily believe that - it is HUGE. Mine AJPV8 is a nice small V8.

Jellison - I'd say on average its about 1200 having spoken to a fair few people about it. As you can see from that thread however, weighbridges vary alot!! I do know of a Griffith that was corner weighed/set up that was found to be 1130kilos IIRC, may have been slightly more, so your 1080 figure is interesting. Im yet to see any evidence of the LW's actually being any lighter, except perhaps on the inside, where the flat rollcage section lets in more of the sunlight.

Mine was done on pucker electronic scales at a scrap yard (calibrated constantly - for amm lorries that come in weigh and then weigh after - paid on the difference - so can see they would have to be right not some mickey mouse track one).

SteveT - we should find some locally and weight yours, some Griff / chims and my Bas&ard spawn.

Is the T350 the only TVR with a full roll cage then ? - I thought the Sagaris had one too and if it does how have they managed to make it 109kg's (1,187kg - 1078kg) lighter than the T350 which is a slightly smaller car.

Yep, I'm glad I don't have a boat anchor V8 like yours adding another 100kgs of weight to the picture
