The planned Rally at the factory on the 3rd of Nov is now headline news in Blackpool, so this has got to go ahead now.

Link www.blackpoolonline.co.uk/ViewArticle2.aspx?SectionID=62&ArticleID=1848197 (please note that the words "Action" and "Angry" were not mentioned in the conversation I had with them.

Apparently the TVRCC has 7000 members, lets see them!

Come on guys lets give 'em something to write about!

As Dave mentioned at the top, don't always believe what the press says, i know from an experience, a few years ago when i was quoted saying something when i never did.
Good luck Dave and everyone who is going to show support to the workers.

This is important and I am sad I cannot be there because of clinical commitments. I hope as many as possible will make it.

It seems to me that the brand loyalty of TVR owners has always been underestimated and poorly exploited by the company. NS never seemed to get it, though I am told he showed signs of understanding at the last 'Back Home' (by when the possibility of outsourcing production must have already been developed). I don't think PW used the connection to the owners or the TVRCC very well either, but then he gave us the product we wanted - even if we had to do the development on the first year's production of each new model! irked

It would be great to demonstrate how strongly many UK TVR owners feel about the betrayal of the workers and Blackpool by the company. I am not a nationalist, indeed I am strongly pro-European, BUT the reason I bought TVR was because it was uncompromising in design, performance and Britishiness (the best of it mostly). As I said to a Z3M owner at the 'Ring recently, yours Messerschmidt mine Spitfire - he wasn't insulted AND he knew what I meant. Italian TVR's - phooey, give me a Maser, an old Lambo, over here all that's left for me now is Classic Cars, because there are no truly British new sportscars left cry (only written to provoke Morgan and Ginetta owners etc and BossCerb and his admiration of the new Marcos)

Let the Russian and the Oxleys know what we really think about the last six months of deception and bad management, CwC will be with you in spirit! shoot

biglaugh No worries, Dave.. still wondering if I should even *try* and get a day off.. Need to review my Friday timetable hehe.
Did get an offer of a lift from the kind chap with the 350i, though wavey but as I say probably won't be able to make it.

Although I suppose without a Tiv myself it won't have much impact either way!

Dave, knowing that you support this is enough matey. You, and other others like you, are the TVR owners of the future. All we are trying to do is make sure that TVRs are around when you are able to buy one. I'm crap at putting things into words, but you know what I mean. shout DON'T JEPERDISE (SP?) YOUR EDUCATION!!!!!!!!!!!

And, by the way, it doesn't matter if people turn up in a TVR or a bloody Transit.
