sorry if this has been posted before, but my choices are either a TVR (T350 or Tamora), BMW Z4M roadster or Porsche Boxster.

I've always wanted a TVR, I would love to own and drive a TVR, but with TVR how they are at the moment is this still a wise decision to think about buying??? I would like you opinions.........

many thanks.

I would advise any potential buyers to steer clear until the truth about TVR's future becomes clear.

The T350 and Tammy are fine cars as are the Tuscan 2's and Sagaris.
Buy as late as you can afford and look at the official TVR warrany which you can buy-it will give you peace of mind.
All you have to do is get a TVR dealer to run a 100 point check and correct any faults then you can enjoy your car worry free. You can even include wear and tear if you want to but it will cost a bit more.

The current position is not very clear but the company is still functioning-the problem being discussed at great length on these pages is the move out of the Blackpool factory which is indeed sad and a huge blow to many on Pistonheads. Passionate bunch your TVR fans.

Look at it this way-you may end up owning one of the last Blackpool built TVR's and I for one can only see prices will firm up after an initial fall.

There is a great FAQ's thread at the top of the Tamora,T350,Sagaris section that is worth scanning-most of the problems experienced are covered there.

The bottom line for me was did I want to wake up one day and ask myself 'I wonder what that TVR would have been like' as I reached for my Zimmer frame.

Why. I think the newwer cars might take a hit but they just might be the ones to go for. The last of the Brits.

I can't see cars made over the water selling. Well I would not buy one.

I am looking to buy as well, I am waiting to find out what is happening with warantys before I buy.
The last thing I want to do is buy a car that has a three year warranty and then it can't be honoured.

TVR will be fine, NS has pumped so much money into the business, he knows exactly what he's doing with TVR. If you went to this years London motor show, you would have seen the best range of TVR's ever built, the quality was excellent, the TVR exibition was one of the most popular at the gig. I've got an 05 Tuscan which I use every day and have clocked up 20k in the year. I'm defininately going to buy a new Saggy, my order will be placed very soon with not a worry about the move, Italy is the home of the sports car, TVR is just going to its rightful home.

Hey shapeshifter I have an 06 Tuscan 2 and I'm agree with you almost 100% (not sure about the comments on Italy). I can't wait to finish paying for this one and trade it in for another new one. I have no fear over this move or the way NS in running the company but I do feel for the guys and girls in Blackpool.

If you are going to buy, then buy one on a forecourt. If you are going to order a new car to your spec, then mail me.

I take it as you didn't use any smilies that you are deadly serious.

I don't think even NS believes that 'NS knows what he's doing' anymore otherwise he must have a seriously split personality.

He should be signed up for Pantomine now - We're staying in Blackpool - Oh no we're not - oh yes we are - oh no we're going to Italy, etc.

I agree with you I think its always been his plan to take TVR aboard.

Yeah we have never made sports cars over here, TVR, Lotus, Aston, JAG, Bentley, plus nearly all the F1 cars you see including Fezza were designed and made over here.

What a really sad attitude you have.

I think Italy can also make a reasonable sports car, Ferrari, Lamborghini etc, TVR will be better off in Italy, I'm sure the Italians will appreciate the style and Kudos of TVR, clearly more so than people like you. You ask any dealer, when the sun comes out they sell more cars, Italy has lots of sun and lots of stylish Italians = car sales! Uncle Bulgarie, stop being a Womble.

Womble, you must agree with the fact that TVR will sell more cars in Italy? look I dont give a monkys where there made as long as there made, cos I want another one. Its a shame for the staff at Blackpool but I'm sure they will find alternative employment or maybe some of them could also move to Italy, its got to be a better standard of living than Blackpool, I know which I'd prefer.

All this debate is a bit pointless IMO the writings been on the wall for ages and TVR are now dead - just need to have a burial and acceptance by some of the posters on here.

I doubt if NS will ever get into proper TVR production again - there'll maybe be a few concepts/specials touted around the European Motor Shows and then it will all just fizzle out.

Motoring journos including Top Gear have been spelling it out for ages now. Go back and read some of the threads of a few months ago when anyone with an ounce of business sense was derided for daring to speak the truth.

Who are the numpties now?

Why - It ( the concepts/special motorshows bit) seems a pretty likely scenario to me ?
