All,

As quickly mooted on the Vinyls thread, I'm going to get a production run made of a shirts for the 26th November. TVR logo on the front, date, event and slogan on the back.

What I need from people is....

Do you want one?
Suggested slogans:
Would you rather a Tee or Polo shirt?
Screen Print or Embroidered?
Colours you think it should be in?

I can only afford to allow this thread a few days as we've not long to get everything made so get in quick!

....also I think we need to sort out a slogan for the whole event so that everything is sending the same message out.

e2djh - have you come up with anything yet?

Be very careful about using the TVR logo if manufacturing items. They are pretty cagey and protective about it's use at the best of times.

Perhaps I should use the letters but not in the "official" style. I'm pretty sure we could come up with something. I'll get some ideas of volume and costs and post back shortly.

Does anyone have a preference in colouration?

Hi KirstM wavey

Have been speaking with the union convener up at the factory this morning, and have asked him to speak with the workers, and ask them what message they would like to be sending to the world. I think it is right that we include them in our brainstorm, and have offered advice that it needs to be short, punchy (sound like somone i know ) and non political.

Touching Cloth (Hi mate) makes a very good point regarding the use of a TVR logo. They will probably come after us, and we are keen to show them that we are not adversorial at all, in fact we are about to provide them with some extremely good poublicity for free! So my immediate response is to call oursleves the "TVR Supporters" (or something similar, and then we could use our own logo (even if it is very similar to something we might already recognise ).

I really liked the one that "looked similar" to the TVR logo, blocked in with a Union Jack that funyol produced here:
www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?p=1&f=13&t=320833&h=0

Funkyol / Anyone out there who works in graphical design that could modify this a little to be our own "TVR Supporter's" logo? Is there a font available in the public domain that looks similar?

We could then use this branding in everything we do now, and for the future. Vinyls, banners, posters, flags, clothing...

What do people think? please let us know

Yes, I'd want one. Or maybe more.

Polos preferred, xxl for me. Embroidered would be best, I'd be looking for a momento of the (sad) occasion not just for the day, so wouldn't mind paying a bit extra.

I already suggested "Blackpool Rock 1947-2006" on t'other thread, but here it is anyway!

It would have to be TVR purple surely?

Slightly contentious - a flag should be incorporated somewhere, but Union Flag or St Georges Cross?

I don't have much in the way of graphics tools, so this is the best I can manage logo wise:

It needs a flag incorporated in the background but its a start!

I **love** this:

Could someone good at graphic design mod it to include the word supporters? It'd look fantastic on the front of the shirts, left breast.

I think we're going for polo and embroidered (if I can get enough made in time!) Still no thoughts on colour...?

I love this too - is it copywright free?

What about TVR united? And would navy be good with that design?

Navy or red would look o.k. Day-glo orange would make them stand out more though

Okay, I've been in contact with the embroiders, time is not a problem. But artwork needs to be sorted quickly. How about this for the frontal design?

I know the yellow / gold bit isn't too clear on white... try to imagine it on red / navy / dayglow orange.

As mentioned earlier I would be very careful about commissioning the use of the TVR logo or an obvious interpretation of it without written permission of the trademark owner. Of course it appears that everything being done here is apparently in the best interest of TVR but if the trademark owner does not enforce its right in the mark (i.e. by turning its back on this adapted logo) then it may have problems in the future protecting its rights.
