Peninsula Automotive to open TVR Franchise in Exeter

Peninsula Automotive are to take on the TVR main franchise for Devon, Cornwall and Somerset.

Peninsula have been working on their expansion plans for tome time and will retain their existing facilities at Cullompton (jct 28 M5). They will be opening full dealership facilities on the 1st May. These new premises will be in Exeter.

All existing services will still be available, but in addition they will be able to offer full dealer facilites covering the complete TVR range from early cars right through to latest models.

Coinciding with the launch, they've announced plans to sponsor a TVR in the 2003 British GT Championship. The Race Sport T400R will be driven by John Hartshorne and Graeme Mundy.

Does this mean main dealer prices for servicing?

I just read this and that's the first thing that came to mind. I am more than happy with the service i receive now and don't want that to change - especially in cost as i can't afford main dealer prices.

What problems I've heard about seem to have been related to them being amazingly overworked.

This will probably let them get shot of the car sales from Cullompton giving them space to expand their workshop.
It may even give them another workshop in Exeter.
These are good changes....

They could have done these changes without becoming an official dealer - I wonder what made them decide to do it this way.

..so does this mean that anyone with a Peninsula "independent" service history.. now magically has a "TVR" service history..?

Well, just be careful with them becuase they refused to return a "refundable" deposit I left with them for a car.

Tread very carefully with them.

Having spoken to Richard This does definitely not mean service prices will be going through the roof. They are very keen to build on the reputation and service they have provided for the last 4 years and this will certainly be staying as enthused as ever
Further new developments and projects are still on the way and will continue ( I know they are currently planning a twin turbo Griffith with traction control )

In response to zoomer I should phone Richard as he is certainly not aware of any deposits outstanding and is interested to find out what this relates to

Good luck to them as they have always provided the best levels of service I have recieved in the TVR community

Glad to hear prices are staying low. They are the only place where I have taken my car back too due to excellent service. This can only be good news I feel

In 12 years of TVR ownership only Peninsula and Tower View Racing, both non-franchised, have done the business at service time. Knowing the people there I don't think they'll go all main dealer on us! Here's hoping.

Richard Called me this evening to echo the fact that Prices will not creap up, and that they are keeping the current setup for maintenance and servicing etc.

Richards Dream is to beable to cater for the TVR whole model range and to beable to ... if people so wish, to supply new cars. He also wants to beable to offer a TVR solution that is 100% driven towards TVR and not have to compromise with other Marques.

Good Luck Richard & the Gang.
