TVR's in Tees Valley area
Discussion
Calling all Northern TVR owners!!
I became the proud owner of a 1997 TVR Chimaera 400 in August this year & obviously I immediatley joined the TVR owners club, only to find that in my first copy of "Sprint" the nearsest regional meetings are either at the wrong side of York or near to Newcastle airport, both 50 + miles away from me in Guisborough.
I was wondering if there was enough TVR interest to form another region for Teesside / South Durham areas.
I have already thought of the the name "TEES VALLEY REGION" (TVR) owners club, I know not very inventive (blame the wife).
Surely there must be enough TVR's in this area to warrent an area of our own, lord knows, I see plenty of the mark on the road to Whitby & Helmsley most weekends.
Can we have a show of hands for & against.
Regards

Hi Paul
There are a few of us in the area. I have a Chimaera and live in Marske. There is a local group of Pistonheads members who meet up at pubs and go on road runs from time to time. I have TVRCC interests too; I am the Chimfest organiser (The TVRCC National Chimaera gathering).
If you check out the Pistonheads Northeast Region Forum at the bottom of the Gassing Station page you'll find our local chat there. Not much happens at this time of year though. Keep an eye on things, our first run should be sometime in March (Cobweb Run) probably over the Yorkshire Dales this year. I organise this one too.

Hi and welcome to the madness that is pistonheads,
I also have a chimaera, and live in Billingham,
a local meet that is TVR specific sounds a good idea,
but on an negative note, one of the reasons I like pistonheads
is the different marque stop it been elitist,
On the last Hoon there was a BMW, rover, vauxhall, Renault and few Lotuses as well as TVR's.
Phil
Thanks for the welcome Bob I am just up the road from you in Guisboro opposite the Lawrence Jackson School if you are planning any runs (weekends only im afraid) count me in.
Btw is it normal for battery to go flat after 2 weeks if the TVR is not used / turned over with the alarm not armed cause mine does - been to Flories with it had it all checked out battery ok

No it's not normal but the batteries in Chimaeras are often old. People fear the job of changing them so try to keep them healthy by using trickle chargers. Having changed mine I found it easy, 20mins, job done. I would say if you don't know how old the battery is then change it. Flat batteries can have a nasty effect on the alarm system. tvrbob said:

No it's not normal It may not be normal, but it does happen to an awful lot.
