for me was when we were somewhere around Traf squre / Whitehall and we had to stop at some lights. Ahead was an orange Cerby and a truly evil sounding blue cerby, then there was me in a 400 wedge, a blue(i think) Tuscan, a couple of chims and an S (may be some more but I couldn't see for laughing) One of the cerbs revved, then the other, then we ALL did. The noise was HUGE, no wait, huge is not enough, the noise was Pan Galactic! I could feel the air vibrating. People on busses and on the pavements were laughing and egging us all on. Even the copper that caught my eye gave me a thumbs up. My TVR worker passenger ( wavey Mick ) said nothing, but smiled sadly.

It was the day london fell in love with TVRs, albeit just a little too late, maybe......

The revs down Picadilly were mental. I probably revved it too hard and may need an engine rebuild now. The air resonated and the crowd were jumping about like orchestral conductors on drugs, and even better - Pauline, my passenger from the factory, who (this is not a bad comment) is of advancing years was giggling like a little girl and loving it, that was great - Seeing someone so integral to the production of our magnificent machines enjoying the moment so much.

Had a similar experience in Piccadilly - the noise (and peoples reaction) wasa amazing. At one point I needed to check the rev counter to make sure the engine was still running in my little old S cos I couldn't hear it!!

Piccadilly did it for me too.

The car with the big TVR flag had a chap who shouted over to me "Sports exhausts?".

I let him know the only way I knew how.... as did the chap behind. And the one behind that. Suddenly all the pedestrians were stopped and gawping, and getting their camera-phones out.

I ended up being one of those pedestrians and can tell you the noise was awesome and the sight just amazing. Wish I could have been in it with you all but "madam" decided this morning that the elusive ignition problems haven't been cured after all. Didn't sound or run quite so good with some of the cylinders missing

Fantastic achievement to all concerned.

One certain blue cerby managed to cause quite a stir on whitehall, he gave it some beans and the row of people walking infront of me all missed a heartbeat and jumped about 50 feet.

AWESOME

I must admit... i am also guilty of contributing to the noise in Piccadilly.

Did anyone else see the guy on the pavement walking along filming with his phone. He stepped in a 6" deep puddle and done a little dance trying to avoid falling over in it.... laugh

I think that might have been us in the Tuscan behind you Andy - is yours a Red Wedge? We were in a couple of instances where some revving fun was had - what an amazing experience! It was just awesome when everyone started throttling it - at one point the noise was so loud, I couldn't tell who was doing what and which cars were involved.

Bit of a shame that, by the time we got there, the run down and up Parliament square was a bit late and there weren't that many cars down there. It was the only time though that I think we got out of 2nd gear!!

PS: We saw Will Young going into the Ritz, got a thumbup thumbup too! - anyone else spot 'im?

There were bods with cameras everywhere. I'm sure there is some noisy video. Maybe it will appear in a few days.

Sorry you missed it Steve, The wedge massive was well represented, including the one off 500se.

I think it might have been me if it was a 350SX. Lots of noise in Picadilly - lets face it with traffic like that there was naff all else to do than make a noise - funny - the Italians would all have been giving it large on the hooters!

We were passengers in a cerb and the noise at Trafalger was impressive to say the least. Having never been in a TVR before it was increadable and my son loved every minute of the noise and revving.
