TVR launches accident scheme

Crash and we'll get you into another TVR

none
TVR has launched what it calls an accident management scheme. The way it works is that if your TVR is involved in an accident that wasn't the drivers fault, you'll be given a replacement TVR within three hours if yours is undriveable to a location of your choice.

Accident management company Bristol & London will also arrange for the car to go to the bodyshop for repairs to be carried out. They will completely manage the loan, repair and return of the vehicles. Terms and conditions are available from Bristol & London.

While the scheme has been operational since May, it's just been put back on the TVR website due to the time of year when slippery roads can catch even the wary driver out.

But that would be driver fault wouldn't it, which it says you will not be covered for?

I gather it might be more accurate to say

"Bristol & London launches accident scheme and TVR said OK, go ahead"

Most TVR accidents I've read of are single-vehicle ones. Curiouser and curiouser.

I agree, my old insurance company said TVR's were the number one single vehicle accident case and hence offered me £3000 insurance and said if i hadn't crashed the car in my first year, they would halve the premium for the second!!

found it for £900 in the end....

Having Worked for Bristol and London (and Helphire) they have a stock of vehicles. In both cases they only work for the specialist prestigous car market. They normally support insurance companies in a "like for like" insurance claim, so if you own something a bit special, you aren't driving around in a Nissan Micra for a few weeks whilst yours is being repaired.

Like all the TVR drivers that loose it in the wet and say I was driving along fine and then it just went BAMMM and spun into the central reservation!!!!!!!!

In the last two years most of the TVR accidents have been related to the owner manger not the owners hehe

Reminds me of that classic quote - ...wasn't my fault, my hands weren't on the wheel at the time ...

They are not theasiest things to control but somepeople think you can get in them and drive like a tool, like they would in their ABS, TC, etc, etc molly coddling piles of boring stuff!

God - in tow car the other day in damp and nailed it with TC on and no way should it have gone round without going into the hedge - TVC light flashing (only did it to see just how much these things drive it for you)!!!!

It's a good idea, IF someone hits you and your car is off the road.

But most TVR accidents are driver errors IIRC... And quite often in the first year of ownership too I suspect.

I do wish people would stop being so b100dy negative about everything TVR try to do!!!!.... I have a new Tuscan (my second TVR) and as the roads are slippy some idiot boy racer who has no driving skill what so ever may well skid into the back of me on a wet/slippy road at this time of year so I think this is a fantastic idea. Keep it up TVR and I hope you've got my order for one of the 60 Typhoons.
