TVR car club sponsor Mickey Holden in Tuscan Challenge 2007

TVR Car Club B/pool to sponsor Mickey Holden in 2007
The TVR Car Club Blackpool region have kindly offered to sponsor Mickey Holden throughout the 2007 season.
The deal was struck in pencil in the summer of 2006 when a meeting with John Mleczek the Blackpool regional organiser was held and we were told that finance's would be put in place to fund Green "STAR" Racing's bid to help Mickey win the TVR Tuscan Challenge class "C" Trophy and bring it back for the Blackpool club in 2007.
To our delight John Mleczek has put this item to the Car Club committee who have agreed that help will be present for Mickey Holden in 2007.
At the Car Club's annual christmas dinner held on the 3rd December 2006 Mickey received in person, a cheque from John Mleczek to cover the entry fee cost of his first race in May 2007. Mickey added, I am so pleased to have the committee and the members of the Blackpool TVR Car Club behind me in what is my first year in TVR racing, I know that I am the new kid on the block at 15 years of age and the youngest ever driver to enter the challenge, but this means nothing when the green flag drops. The racing season is going to be tough, a lot of hard work is needed behind the scene's in both mental and physical fitness. My dad is always reminding me this is what my goal is and smooth driving lines win races, so I will be looking to be first at the chequered flag and will do my level best to bring the trophy back for the Blackpool club.

Not meaning to add to all the pressure - honest
But it would be very pleasing to see that trophy come back home to Blackpool in 2007 for the 60th birthday of TVR.
No pressure like I say, there's only hundreds of people counting on you

I was though, and the CC gave me a wild goose chase that ended up costing me time and money. I never recieved anything that was promised. Getting quite fed up of the whole circus of TVR ownership if I'm honest, anyway thats that, seeing as I'm not towing the party line I'll keep further comments to myself for fear of being branded a heretic.

Would you be good enough to clarify whether this is something which the Blackpool region is doing itself, or whether it is funded in any way from the TVRCC?
The post starts off saying it is Blackpool region but mention of committees suggests the central part of the Club.
Private e mail me if you prefer.
Many thanks
Andy

Its the Blackpool region rather than the TVRCC. Somthing funded and approved by the local members.
The TVRCC provide a small amount of Sponsorship to the series as a whole, providing things like the trophies.. etc
your not doing yourself any favours Iain....bit like the end of term doo where you managed to talk yourself out of the sponsorship at the crucial moment.....

Come on Iain chin up buddy, STAR Racing helped you out as you know last year and its people like yourself,Mickey Holden and a host of other now class "C" drivers that is going to be flying the TVR flag in that class. So start looking forward to the 2007 racing season and lets set class "C" on fire and give the TVR fans something to watch in 2007.

That's great news Mickey,
if nobody has met Mickey before, i suggest they get to at least one race next season and pop into the padock and meet him, great lad and heres to some very good luck for 2007.
I hope to be there to see as many races as i can (with camera) so just a bit more pressure for you Mickey.
