50 million quid left over, no-one seems to want it
See here...
How about giving a couple of million to the workers of a certain other ailing British car company?
Give them the Christmas they deserve!

Interesting reading. I suppose nothing can be offered to help the workforce untill certain parties get their flaming acts together ( Or have an attack of conscience which is unlikely !!!)
It would however be nice if certain individuals would have even had the decency to acknowledege the efforts of TVR Thunder......Namely Richard Hammond ( Lest he forgets the efforts of Pistonheaders after his accident and the money raised for air ambulance.)The least he could do is support us. British car company, british Tv programme,no support.!! figure that !!!!!!
And unless Im mistaken there has been no press release from Downing Street. Do they think we will all simply disapear if they pretend it didnt happen ?????....

The last thing I want or expect is for someone to help because they feel `obliged` to do so.
What i dont understand is how the mainstream car programmes have ignored the fact that Thunder happened at all!!! They should WANT to help.....If they are passionate about cars we should have been inundated with help and support.....The lack of response from other parties was probably expected!!!!!..... I mean, we were asking for help from the Anti smoking, Anti drinking, Anti driving, Anti enjoying life Party....!!!!!
Sorry to rant on but just feel sorry we cant do much more to help our friends around Blackpool at the mo.... TVR need a hero right now.

I was just pointing out that I didn't think he should feel obliged BUT it would have been nice if a few well known car enthusiasts/journalists/personalities etc., had wanted to get involved & support us.

[Devil'sAdvocate]Given its current state and recent announcements regarding closures and redundancies, wouldn't the money be better off going to the NHS?[/Devil'sAdvocate]
Going off topic.. Don't get me started on the NHS.. i would agree with giving money to them if it actually went to Nurses and on healing people instead of to various-think tanks, steering committees etc etc..
That's what annoys me the most - they'll shut a hospital ward for want of a million quid, but money like this just floats about because it was allocated from a different budget!
This was already set aside for one British car firm and has not been used - why can't even a small percentage be transfered over?
These are peoples livelihoods FFS!!!!
Guess someone somewhere thought if it went unnoticed for long enough, they could syphon it off into a nice offshore account.....
How do politicians sleep at night?
...on a huge bed of our money, with many beautiful ladies...or boys...or farm animals...

I have to say that sometimes you wonder why you bother respecting certain institutions and personalities at all. I have been a lifelong fan of Jeremy Clarkson and always thought he was a patriotic car enthusiast with a genuine passion for soulful cars. I've bought a large numer of his books and DVD's and always tune in to see him on TV but I am frankly disgusted that he and all the other motoring journos have totally ignored the collapse of Britain's most important remaining carmaker - a company who Top Gear once considered important enough to feature on a 30 minute TV special.
As for the Government, well sadly they seem to have adopted the same free market capitalist principles that were devised by that mad witch Thatcher. I'm afraid that the only politicians I really respect are those like Tony Benn who stood up for Concorde when everyone else wanted to cancel its development. I don't really give a damn that it probably cost more than it ever returned, the mere fact that it made millions of people's spirits soar as it flew overhead as a beacon to human endeavour and spirit was reward enough. There are some things that just ought to be done because they are right and to heck with the balance sheet. I see TVR as very similar - just seeing one in motion makes my spirits soar.

The labour party have no interest AT ALL. It annoys me to think that the petition probably didn't even make as far as a minister.
Well I did say and its time to have another moan, they were used to light the fire at No10 the next morning. Those hyprocitical, snipe nosed, lazey, potbellyed, bastard politicians who screw their own working people into the ground. And yet people still rush out to vote for them,Personaly I would not piss on any of them even if they were on fire.

Thats about right SAXON but you're a little more diplomatic than me. Clarkson and the other two s***s seem to find it amusing to criticise anything TVR.I would rather shovel horse s***t all day than listen to them prattle on about Italian and German sports cars.I too am disappointed that they did not see fit to support the British cause. As for the government well they are a waste of space.Long may we see TVRs on the road , a refreshing change from all the other tin box, cloned cars.
