Overdue message of thanks from a TVR worker
Discussion
Whilst I have been sat at home for the last 5 or so weeks I have been reading with interest the posts on this forum(besides its the only way most of the time to get any info about work!).Just found out a few hours ago from a fellow workmate about the winding up of TVR - doesn`t surprise me.
Have(had) worked at the factory since the late 80`s.If I am really to be potted it will be a really sad time for me.I liked my job and the bunch of workmates I worked with.
I would like to thank all of the Pistonheaders who have given us the workers all of their support. When I went to the Red Lion get-together I spoke to a couple of guys one whos name was John,I cant remember the other gentlemans name.John had a red griff and the second gentleman had a silver Tuscan S.Very kindly I was given a guided tour of the griff, was allowed to sit in the Tuscan and I pointed out all the bits on the two cars which I made.Looking around at the mass of people present it felt like being part of a great big family.
Anyway I`m just waiting here in limbo for the end to come (or the universe to implode, whichever comes sooner...).Many thanks for the free drinks, moral support and some interesting conversations with John and the Tuscan S gent not only about TVR cars but also about more esoteric subjects(these two gents know what I mean).
Thank you again,a TVR worker who you can call Dereck Acorah(my workmates will know what I mean by this)

Thanks for taking the time to come on here. I was at the factory on the day of the blackpool run. It brought tears to my eyes. I was actually there to see my Sagaris in build. But unfortunatly instead of being a very happy day it was not. I cancelled the order that day due to the amount of messing around the higher powers were doing. I wanted nothing more then to have a hand built, personal spec car built by some of the best automotive workers in the world today.
I have since purchased a beautiful sagaris which is sitting wrapped in christmas paper in the garage. I am so terribly sad to hear that after all this awful messing the past few months the worst has happened. Although i am more then excited to have a beautiful amazing car built by all the excellent workers there i am terribly saddened for you all. I would have given anything to have had the sagaris to go to london thunder and i'm sad i will never get to meet some of the people who worked on it but i wish them all the best. Take care, you will all be on every Tvr owners minds for along time to come!

Sorry I never got to meet you at the Red Lion Del. I could'nt make that particular trip. Although I did make London Thunder, and spoke to some really decent workers at the Ace Cafe who were GENUINELY grateful for the support.
It was a day I will never forget.
I recon you have definately made numerous parts on the 350i, 4.3 Griff & currently Cerbera 4.5 I have owned. Thanks for having a hand in building the best bang for bucks car in the world mate. You must feel privileged to have been part of TVRs history, as I know I would.
Although the end game has been nothing short of disgusting, and none of you deserved to be put through it.
My thoughts are with you and yours, and I hope the new year brings new openings and a fresh start. Good luck friend.

It was humbling to be involved in the Blackpool and London runs and I'm very sad that it just hasn't made a difference.
It has made a difference - the workforce and owners have come together as a family. Shame it couldn't have done more.

Over the years, most before I even had a wish to own a TVR, I have had the pleasure to meet many of the factory workers and my conversations at the 2 rallies re-enforced my belief that they are a great bunch and as enthusiastic about the cars they have produced as we are.
I am lucky enough to own 2 TVR's and I run a region of the TVRCC because of the pleasure I have sharing time with like minded individuals.
A lot had been said on here about one united family, having spoken today to some of those most affected by the closure I firmly believe this is the case and that the circle of like minded individuals has been expanded.
Why I should feel so passionately about a car and so upset about the plight of those that build them I have no idea I cannot properly describe how I feel at the momment.
We must make sure we re-unite regularly.
I know JEMMIE its never easy to accept the loss of ones job, particularly when guys like yourself and your buddies get up in a morning to enjoy your days work building TVRs and know at the end of that day you did your best and earned your money.Every time I use my RRTamora knowing the many hours its taken to build and all those TVR people who helped to bring it to life, I thank you each and everyone.Chris Bland. PS one door may close but another will open, never look back if it happens, and when you see a TVR say to yourself I built part of that.
Just wanted to add my best wishes to you and all the TVR team at Blackpool. You have all put a smile on my face...every day of the past 2 months that I have owned the long long dreamed of 450 Chimaera...I have my fingers crossed that there is still a silver lining...ever the optomist. Thank you for producing such a stonking good value sports car that is just a thrill to drive (and to look at!)...all the very best for 2007.

Hope you're not quoting from the section on door operating instructions from the RR Tamora Handbook - sounds more like RedNose than RedRose
No need for that.
I can hear the padlock rattling if it continues!
