I recently upgraded my old car radio to an new single cd player at the weekend and despite the fact that it’s a TVR the wiring wasn’t to bad. Tested it and all ok but when I run the engine I get a buzzing sound coming from each speaker, this happens both on Radio and Cd playback?

Any ideas…. As I am a bit baffled that it never happened on the old radio and it happens both on radio and cd playback ?

Any help appreciated ?

Does this buzzing occur all the time? The reason I ask is that, sometimes, when I start my Chim up, I too get a buzzing sound, but only for a short while!!!! I also upgraded to a CD player at xmas.
I am not sure if the buzzing is coming from the speakers or the fuel tank!! very odd!!

Yep sounds like you need an inline alternator surpressor, does the buzz change tone/volume when you rev it?

No seems to be steady but that might be because i can't hear the buzzing when i rev the engine - pre cat V8S with Sports exhaust

Is it a resonating buzz, ie something rattling a small but fast amount (possiably a speaker grill not put on properly)
or is it electonic interfearence, in which case, try and identify if the wire takes a different path to the previous, and see if it is shielded + earthed
