3 Page TVR Spread in EVO
Discussion
This month's EVO has three pages on TVR - 2 pages on the Typhoon including CAD pictures and my God does it look like it's been mullered by the ugly stick, and 1 page on the demise of the Blackpool operation.
Starts off saying "Reports of TVR's death have been greatly exaggerated" and ands saying "The Typhoon's biggest task is to convince the sports car buying public that TVR really is in safe hands" Quite!
The 3rd page points out that there will be a press conference in London on Jan 17th at which TVR's final plans will be revealed.

Final plans? NS has had more plans then I've had the proverbial hot dinners, and they've all been lies. I wouldn't believe that d1ckhead if he told me the sky was blue, so why should anyone believe the crap that he'll spout on 17 Jan?

Maybe Im just being sceptical, but the guys a prick and as Julian stated I wouldnt believe him if he told me water was wet

Agree. 'Edge' styling works on a Focus etc but has no place on a modern sports car. Designed by CAD they say - obviously - without human guidance
Hopefully they'll soften and improve it as usual before production.
At least it's a 2+2, which is needed, even if it won't be as wieldy around a track as the current T-Cars.
I noticed the badge too - looks more like TVE than TVR.
The letters are on top of a Union Jack (the flag is in the shape of a wide shield)
I guess because some of the paperwork may be carried out in the UK!
As for the design - very 599ish but in a bad way!...but I quite like the wheels!

Im wondering if its more a cheeky move by the stylists to show thier respect/ wishes for TVR to stay in Britain?
Im dearly hoping its not a cheesy move by one of the management to try and hold onto a heritage/concept that they seem to be destroying.
Long live the British sportscar eh?

If you look harder at some of the shots, you'll see its actually quite curvy... the side profile shot makes it look a little lego though.
I have faith that it'll look right in the carbon, although I tend to find Alias makes things look alot curvier than they are if you join the surfaces well, can look sharp otherwise? Looks like a good model to my eyes though, so maybe im completely wrong and it is pretty sharp?

If they really propose to use that then it really is pitiful.
I have every confidence that this car will never be made anyway. And as EVO points out, the real issues facing any TVR produced by the current bunch is to convince the sports car buying public that the Marque is safe in their hands and to convince them to buy a British sports car that isn't British. And the answer to both, particularly the first, is no chance. (IMO)
Just seen the article and the images and here are my thoughts:
Front looks like a Marcos TSO Rip off, The back they cut off a Lotus Europa and stuck it on. The rear quarter glass disappears into nowhere? The rear lights and the way they stick out looks cheap and looks like they stole them from halfords. I'd rather have an F430 for the money to be honest. The side view looks horrendous!
