TVR help & info needed please
Discussion
Hi all
I would like to get the TVR specifications in my database fully up to date. I'd like to appeal for help from whoever can please. If you have brochures, press releases, road tests etc, please can you scan them in & send my way? Also, there are plenty of holes in my data, as well as inaccuracies. Any help pointing those out would be very much appreciated, thanks. Anecdotal information is fine, but I would use it to support information presented rather than as a primary source.
Also, does anyone know if TVR had any sort of document archives of their press releases, brochures, etc? If so, what's going to happen with that? Any chance it could be put in a library or otherwise given some sort of public access to it?
This is what I currently have:
www.carfolio.com/specifications/models/?man=6380&TVR-specifications
I know for instance that there were at about 4 different power outputs for the Tuscan Speed Six, excluding the "Red Rose" option, I certainly don't have sources for all of those. Unfortunately a lot of my research material saved mostly off TVR's own site over the years got wiped in a disk crash - backups always seem so much more worthwhile once your data's gone ;-)
Also, if anyone can recommend good books that are still in-print & available that would help, please let me know what they are. I saw John Tipler's book, but it didn't seem to carry much in the way of data. I have a couple of the Brooklands road test reprint series, which are great, and piles of magazines (mostly Autocar) and there are quite a few road tests amongst them.
My database will always remain free of charge to the public, so your contributions will remain available to all via the interweb. I'd like to get the TVR section well sorted ;-) as a sort of homage to the marque. I have always loved them, although never had the chance to have a go in one, and TVR has played a major role in my personal petrolheadedness. I'm gutted by it's apparent final demise. I'm still holding out for a miracle!
Thanks for any and all help!

Try the TVRCC. They have an excellent archive and an excellent archivist in Richard Sails.
