Gizza clue , Guys-

This is a very recent, somewhat vexing, emergeance on my 1999 Griff 500, running sweet as. Oil pressure pretty much normal on gauge at first. Go on a run then I've started to observe that gauge has "spat its dummy" and is showing 90+ psi , but when I rev engine, the reading drops and seems to be directly proportional to engine speed (shows 90 psi with engine inert!). Now then, it is my understanding that the oil pressure sender (by the filter) merely activates the warning light and surely, as is my limited understanding, there is a capilliary to the gauge on the dash that determines the reading, regarding actual oil pressure. Could some kind soul point me in the correct direction, please? I am becoming a tad concerned about my beloved machine. Blue is the fastest colour, by the way, and i can prove it using physics (or something, probably)

The gauge is probably electrical, and there's a proportional sender down there by the oil filter as well as the switch that controls the warning light. From the sound of it you have a wiring fault of faulty gauge pressure sender.
