What was the limit? If it was a 60, I doubt you'll get a ban. If it was a 30 or 40, there's a possibility.

get a good solicitor - you may get a ban, but if he does his job right, it will be only for a few week. Also - its worth joining Nick Freeman's website - "keep on driving" also really good - if you need any more information - give me a shout

A few years ago, a certain police force alleged that I was doing in excess of 100 mph on the M40. I employed Nick Freeman to represent me and in court the police were found to have not followed various procedures and therefore the allegation could not be supported. I walked free - with no points.

It did cost £5k to sort out, but at the time it would have cost me a lot more had I lost my licence.

Good luck.

Double Check everything..loopholes are the key to geting out of a speeding charge.

I got off mine on just such a technicality that and the fact the CPS employed a total muppet to try to prosecute me. Result was i won and was awarded £1700 of "costs".

Look at:
www.pepipoo.com
www.safespeed.org.uk

Contest everything and demand to see the photographs and or video that the camera was connected to if indeed it was. Are there any lorries in the picture, if so it is proved in law these reflect the beams and cause false readings etc. etc.

You didn't deny that you were doing 76 in a 40 limit so - to those advocating you try to get off on a technicality - I guess holding up your hands and saying "it's a fair cop I was doing nearly twice the speed limit" isn't a reasonable thing to do? 76 in a 40 limit - what's your excuse - you over polished the paintwork and were surprised by the lack of drag? We all exceed the speed limit from time to time knowing that when you get caught you expect to take the punishment. 40 mph dual carriageways are a dead cert place for surveillance and therefore not a place to speed in my experience - bad luck, I hope you're only off the road for a short time. Speed in itself is not dangerous, but the circumstances may cause it to be so.

Good luck....I`m on 9 points, all within last couple of years-all marginal and my work includes a lot of driving around the uk. 6oooo mls per year ish.

Just f***ing unlucky, really. Dont regularly speed, just inched over, all it takes. Now drive more dangerously than ever, despite slow speeds (always within limits!!!) looking for cameras, looking back at them after I`ve passed and looking carefully at the speedo. Bl**dy annoying. And also my driving turns crap when a police car is behind me!! Boggling.

So, if you were speeding....take it on the chin. Dont see as you`ve a lot of choice and you may only be banned for a few weeks. I looked into as much as I could for my last little episode....but...took it on the chin.

Dave.
