how can we convince local councillors to name roads after cars that were built there ?

Griffith Avenue, Cerbera Road, Chimaera Lane, Tasmin Close, Tuscan Street, Taimar Gardens, SEAC Road etc...... S Bends ? scratchchin

If it does end up as housing what better way to mark its previous life. So much better than some random theme from a developers "big book of housing estates".

I am with those that truly hope for a return to building the cars in Blackpool, but it has been said here on many occasions that the Bristol Avenue factory is in a state, rather than state-of-the-art. Better to start again on a new Blackpool(ish) site with all the assistance and taxbreaks that that can generate from landlords and govt/EEC bodies etc.

Don't forget the Nikolai Cul-de-Sac leading to the Smolenski multi-storey bungalows.

AT least the culs-de-sac could have "TVR Turning Heads" at the end, to remind people that's what they do!

Houses should have push button front doors and all houses in Cerbera Street should have interiors that freak out ordinary people (until they get used to the uncommonly good ergonomics of the weirdness).

Depends what kind of housing, I work for a property developer and we name the streets. although how it works for 'affordable housing' im not sure If its a private developer the council would have to stipulate tvr street names in the planning agreement, or we would have to personally request it from the property firm.

Very good idea.

In true keeping you could build the houses with leaking roofs and door bells that fall off.

I would not like to live there. Can you imagine having all those TVR 'nutters' driving up early Sunday morning to take pictures by the road signs and revving their engines like their lives depended on it?.

Oh no, not me.

Don't build em like TVRs... nobody could afford to live in a house where you can't turn the heating off!
