I think I have been busted.

Was blasting along the A4 (straight road, dual lane, open lane) following my mate in his cobra when a copper ran out onto the central res. with some kind of camera/gun thing.

I was behind the cobra who got on the brakes when he spotted the copper, hope we had time to scrubb emough speed.

Not sure if he had time to set up his equipment and register us, oh well long wait for the post!!

Damm my TVR for being so quick after its service.

Anything is possible , i've just got off with doing 154mph while being tailed by and unmarked police car.
when i say 'got off' more like only got 3 points , told him that i was frighted he was going to try hijack my car as he had tailed me for 7 miles, as proved by his own video footage.

good luck

Hi mojorider - hard luck. Whereabouts on A4 were you? Speaking as an A4 regular myself.

I was on the bit close to Sonning, two lanes. This is always very tempting for a quick blast between round abouts.

Well, Sir Douglas, it's a sorry sign of the times, that a perfectly innocent jab of perfectly harmless blood and thunder attracts such mindless vilification.

Yet another perfectly sound minded individual possibly alienated against 'the system' which in any other common sensical, criminal context he would no doubt thoroughly support.

Just join the ABD then the rantings aren't entirely fodder for the wind...

Fingers crossed old chap.

I was very lucky on Friday too...sometimes you look back and think I wonder what it was ...and wasn't I lucky ....but I was hoofing it round the M25 early heading away for the weekend and was happily following a Volvo who was never going to budge so I happily sat in his wake at 120mph...occasionally up to 130 but just sitting at 120 most of the time ---but there is this bike following me and I just think its odd...has three lights at the front and a blusih toinge to the bottom two....I get spooked and pull into the middle lane (yes I know they are only HID lamps but hey just had a feeling)...he goes past and as I head around a slight bend somewhere around the A111 turn off there is a patrol car with PC Revenue holding a gadget out of the window...lucky bloody me ...and I must stay it made me drive much slower all weekend....NOT...

Anyone else noticed that speed cameras have the opposite effect on people....on the A1 heading north there is a whole long section of cameras (& I mean miles of them) everyone slows down to the required speed and then afterwards everyone boots it to a far faster speed than they were doing prior to the speed camera stretch as psychologically I suppose they feel 'behind' on their journey after such a long stretch of cameras.....-with a bit of work could we work this into an anti-speed camera argument ..??

I just wish they would spend more time catching real criminals (the ones who rob and steal cars) and less time on parking/speeding violations.

Indeedy, Flt Lt Basher.

This is precisely the effect of tax scameras in non-urban areas.

The whole argument that tax raising via these loathsome tactics of subterfuge causes dangerous driving needs massive emphasis.

It's nothing new that we say but what will be new is when the vocal anti-scamera lobby (via the ABD) develops an irresistable political volume and hence opportunity for someone in IDS's ranks.

I'm quite optimistic it can happen - we just need to rally enough hacked off motorists to get orf their arses and say quite simply, We are sick of being taxed and ripped off by you bastards!

It's really not that unreasonable nor beyond the wit of man. Is it?
