cheap insurance
Discussion
Hagerty gave me some silly quotes on Griffs/Chims.........about 250-260 quid per year. It didn't even have to be on a classic car policy i.e. over ten years old, just had to have a normal everyday car as well.
That was 38, live in West Sussex, 3000 p.a (although I think upping it to 5000 pa only added 20-30 quid to it), garaged.

Other things they take into account are
is it garaged
are you the only driver
may have 4 yrs no claims but any accident history in the last 3 (sometimes 5) years.
I would also try A Plan. My local branch always seem to try very hard.
Anyone actually claimed against any of these companies??? Personally, cheap isn't always best - we had insurance via Tesco who yes, were cheap, but when we had to make a claim bloody hell were they awful.
Currently with Mannings who understand what a Tiv actually is. I would ask a a lot more questions before committing.

I'm another with Privilege, quoted me £400 for the Griff on 10 000 miles. RAC were also competitive at £350. All the so-called specialists seem to charge morew for less miles. They might include track days but that is no benefit if you don't do track days. I work on the premise that all insurance companies are sh** therefore cheapest is best.
Looked into getting a griff with my brother - £2.7k
with 5 yrs no claims am thinking that I have to wait a bit longer... If you do ring around though, it is usually cheaper, but I would see what the service level is like before you commit, as it has been said earlier in the thread cheaper isn't always better. I would rather get people to recommend on the basis of dealing with claims.
