I see your a British Engineer. Why would a Russian with lots of money have support for receiving a Lordship from you? Bearing in mind what's happened at TVR in the last six months. Confused. I am.

It beats bashing metal or plastic, if we can extract the roubles from them, I have more of a chance of getting the villa in Spain. As Maggie Thatcher said its better to earn a £ through tourism than pay double to do it throgh manufacturing.

Er, yes it does. Thank you for asking. I never asked if your occupation covered the mortgage. I wouldn't dare.

I am at the sharp end of automotive engineering, trying to keep customers such as Toyota, Nissan and Ford happy. This is very difficult when they demand annual cost reductions of 7 to 8 %. Do Key Grip buyers demand this?

Well thats highly commendable. I respect anybody who works in British Engineering in today's current economic environment. I just didn't understand your posts at the head of the topic. I work in the British Film Industry which, like yourself, has suffered massively from cheaper labour from foreign (European) shores. Wasn't looking for you to dissect how I pay my mortgage repayments in public.

I did not intend to be disrepectful. It just make me very sad to see the decline of British industry whether it be in automotive , film, aerospace, farming, mining etc. Sometimes it seems that only the media and banking industries are the winners. From my original post the only thing we will have left is our heritage. Whats wrong with selling Lordships to gullible bankers?

Your original post has nothing to do with heritage. Still confused.

Having had the privelage of being in the aquaintence of representatives of the House of Lords and also seeing first hand what the the majority have done for our Country in it's darkest hour, I will always be on their side.
The cash for honours scam really harms my way of thinking of current politicians, if I can call them that?
I will not say any more on the matter as this Forum isn't a political avenue it should be about us enjoying/ griping about what we have the mis/fortune of owning.

Regards,

James Sim.

My goodness. Is it only me, or has there been a slight misinterpretation of intentions happening here? (is that proper English?)

Perhaps one shouldn't post at this time of night.

Oops. That means me too.
