Hiya Alan!
Perhaps you can help me i have just bought a 5litre Chimaera, and was wondering if yours has a 500 badge on the back or not. Got a feeling the dealor removed it to put his plate in it's place. I have seen chims with 450 badges attached to the Chimaera badge, but not as yet seen any 5litre ones. seems a shame not to show off..

i would think all TVR's in the chimaera series have got either 450 or 500 on the back, not sure about the 4 litres.

The 4 litre's just have Chimaera.

The 4.5's have 450.

I have seen 5.0's with 500.

some early Chimaeras, 5.0 / 4.5 / 4.0 litres came without any indication as to their hoofin ability I think 97 - on had badges accordingly, could be wrong though, mines a 96 with no 500 badging.

Hi Jessica!

Yes, it has a "Chimaera 500" badge. Can't imagine why a dealer would remove it - that's tantamount to vandalism! However, they can look a bit tatty after a while. I've been thinking about getting mine refinished by Leven.

Jessica - Hope you can see this. If not, it is an all-in-one badge on the nearside.

Cheers - and good luck with the new car!

My '97 500 doesn't say the size on the badge - I too wondered about this and have having checked every 500 I've seen - only seen the 500 badge on those with the angled/recessed numberplate - i.e. round rear lights facelift.
Hope it answers the question.

You can get a better than original badge from:

www.leventechnology.co.uk/

They refurbish original badges and coat them with resin - prolongs the life of the finish. Well worth the £35. You send your old badge back so they can refurb it and sell it on.

We can work our 'magic' on any TVR badge front or rear and supply new badges if required. Why not have a 'TVR' front badge on the rear to the right hand side of the numberplate.
